The win 8.1 tablet tw801 vs tw802. Does the tw802 have GPS? Some of the people on the forums are saying that is a mistake and neither has GPS?

One of them does and the other doesn't. It's the only difference between the two tablets. We do have a display unit in the store so you can verify it in the settings on it before you buy it if you'd like.

Can't see difference between the the TW801 vs. TW802 (besides price - extra $40). Screen res, CPU, memory, etc...

Only thing I can find is a different socket (Z3735F vs. D), but the specs are identical, aren't they?

Not sure why this is getting TD... this is the same tablet that sells $165 on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/WinBook-Win...B00NC0EAAG.

Double check the overclock - turbo speed between the D and the F it may vary.

Also, you may want to wait for the next wave of incredibly cheap tablets coming out this year based off of the Cherry trail Atom processors. The GPU (Graphics) performance gains are 4x what we have right now in the Bay trail Atoms and the cost to manufacture is lower due to the die size reduction (14nm).

The other main difference: the 802 has a USB2 port while this one has a USB3 port.

I've also read some discussion saying that the 802 is supposed to have GPS, but in the same discussion people are saying that it isn't true.

So in summary, it's still not clear to me. Also if you're comparing the prices, the original 801 price ($159.99( is actually higher than the 802 price ($129.99, but the 801 has always been on sale, that's why it's always cheaper.

I'm not sure myself. I've been looking at these Windows tablets for a few months now and I thought people went crazy when they went to $119.99 about a month ago. Now it's $20 cheaper and suddenly nobody is interested anymore shake head

I don't know either. Only thing I can figure is that site traffic has died down quite a bit as opposed to 1 - 2 months ago because people were doing their holiday shopping and people were actively on the hunt for just about anything that would save them even a little bit of money. Hence why they would go bonkers over even less appealing deals laugh out loud Still doesn't exactly explain the TD when this is less expensive.

Yup. This is what kept stopping me to buy one of these things (winbook, stream, vivotab, venue pro, etc). The future is incredibly bright.

But I'm guessing the price will reflect these new technology as well, right? And I think it's unlikely you'd be able to get them around $100 when they come out. At least that is what will justify me to finally get one nod

we are in the middle of a mobile computer tsunami. no matter what you buy now or a year from now wont matter in 5 years. were seeing new hardware every year that makes the last years versions seem crappy. just buy what you need and can afford, youll never settle on something that is the 'right' choice.

I heard Intel said they won't subsidize the next gen atom as much. This gen of tablets is so cheap (as cheap as Android tablets) because Microsoft gives away free OS with Office and Intel gives aways free CPU to hit their shipment target.

Price is what I am worried about. Otherwise I would wait for Cherry Trail which has more graphics.

Last I heard, Cherry Trail will be coming in Q3 2015 ... in that regard there will always be a better, smaller, more battery efficient chipset around the corner.
