Seems like a really good deal. Especially for a 5th gen i7 and a dedicated gpu.

Agreed. This is almost perfect for what I've been searching for. If it only had a backlit keyboard I'd totally pull the trigger. Mad Looking for something to use for work while on the plane in a 14" form factor. Sadly, the search continues. Cool

Thanks for the post! hug

note that this i7 is *probably* one of those Ultra Low Voltage chips, and do not compare to the normal i7 workhorses. i7-5500U, the U short for ULV. Much better battery life, snappy enough for daily tasks, but don't get your 4k dual screen max settings gaming expectations up.

Damn.. would probably get if it wasn't for the weight and "5 hour" battery life...

Does not have a backlit keyboard. The 15" version does. I ordered a version of this model assuming it had a backlit keyboard because of the pictures. When delivered there was no backlight. Called Lenovo and they said it wasn't listed on the specs but they did offer me a refund. Told them about the pictures online and they said they were aware of them and were in the process of changing them...that was 4 months ago...lol.

I do remember one of the first 21" CRT Sony on the market and it was shock for us back then EEK! 21" OMG!!! 17" was top of the line then... Sweet 80-90's Big GrinBig GrinBig Grin

Now I got 3 24" and still blame table to be way too short for one more 24" and eyes for not be able to see at least 270* at the same time DBig GrinBig Grin

According to the feature list, the Y40-80 do have illuminated/backlit keyboard. I guess the 2014 model (haswell) version didn't have it.. but this time it does. Dontknow
