Guess they still haven't sold out their inventory yet. The deal is back for the third time--

Note for all those who ask: I've done this a few times so I know what I'm talking about. You CAN get the phone, and sell it or give it away and STILL keep the Prime. You will just have to log into your Amazon Kindle account (which you all have just you may not realize it) and "Deactivate" (their words not mine) the Fire Phone from your account. Once you do that, the Prime will leave that phone and latch onto your account.

So essentially get a year of Prime, and get a phone free? I would have bought that...

Called Amazon and told them I was not sure about one but they said I could return it for free if I did not like it.

True?

I mean Amazon if great with returns but on a phone? If this is true I might as well buy one and try it out for a few days

I think it will hit $150 or so in the summer, no sooner though

I would buy another one of the price drops to $150 and the 1 year of Prime is still included.

Hilarious that for $10 less everyone loved the deal but from $189 to $199 it becomes a rip. Plan to buy a few. I bet the $99 for Prime even goes up over the next few years but even a $100 (with Prime) for this is a solid deal. I'm on AT&T & the only thing close is a HTC Desire 610 which aside from not having "true" Android this smokes that phone in every way & the best price on it is $140.

Can't be. Then it would've been "free" as it comes with a year of prime.

I hope it goes down too (& have been waiting patiently for that) but I think the next thing that may happen is it will be gone from Amazon.com due to being sold out so I'm going with the bird in the hand is worth two in the bush on this one! They have been drastically discounting this phone in the U.K. & who knows where else so not sure they still have tens of thousands just sitting around anymore. Wish someone who worked at Amazon could let us SD'ers know the current inventory status!!

These are rumored to be dropping to FREE, with $99 Prime purchase, in the Spring.

Even at Free, they're overpriced.

I tried my best to use it for a couple of months. The Interface is really paintful. Even with me sideloading all the google apps that i normally use. the whole experience is a disaster. Been the core is Android, I don't know why Amazon had to cripple a very robust operating system.
No widgets,
No way to change the wallpaper. Only lock screen image.
No shortcuts or direct dials.
Menus are clouded and multitasking is buggy, not intuitive commands.
Voice assistant is in its infancy compared to google, siri, or cortana...

The only good side of this phone is its hardware. Excellent camera but basic camera software.

I had to switch back to my old Nexus 4.... will wait for a deal on LG G3 or Galaxy S5...
