Guess they could have given it away for free, but the one dollar price guarantees serious subscribers only. bounce

Beware the fine print:

Charge my credit card $1.00 for the first 3 months of my Wall Street Journal subscription.* Thereafter, service will automatically renew and my credit card will be charged $28.99 monthly. Rates are subject to change upon notice. Sales tax may apply.

Unfortunately you don't get coupon inserts with this paper Frown. Good offer though. Repped

For only an additional $4, you can also get the printed edition delivered. Not a bad deal for 3 months of both digital and paper editions.

I wouldn't worry too much about canceling on time. I had a subscription for a long time that I canceled. I've had excellent customer service experiences with them and they credited me back for charges like that. As long as you catch it within a month extra I'd be surprised if they didn't credit you back the money.

I got tired of having to pick it up in my driveway. Isn't online a lot easier?

It's a matter of personal preference. Some of us still like the feel of newsprint. Others prefer the convenience and portability of digital. But for $5 you can get both.

Perfect timing. My Slickdeals $1 online subscription to the NYT is expiring in a couple of days. This will do nicely.

Just do a few surveys on rewardsurvey.com and you can get a 6 or 9 month subscription, for free, without giving them your credit card. That's what I did. They're 51 and 71 dollars worth of reward credit, respectively, and the typical survey reward is 20.

Yes.

Any columnists stand out to you? It's been a while since I read the WSJ or other publications for that matter, I think Jason Zweig and Jonathan Clements offer pretty good advice.

Surveys are horrible. I usually give up after 20 minutes!
