UX305 from Asus []

From Microsoft store for $629 after edu discount if you qualify []

The price is really good for the specs - 8GB/256GB 1080p IPS and to add to that it is super thin (0.48 inches) and super light (2.65 pounds)

Note: NO Touch Screen - but the display is a high quality MATTE 1080p IPS screen

This appears to be the regular price so not a slickdeal per-se. But posting it so that laptop shoppers are aware of this laptop.

For a lot of folks, the core M would be enough and the 8GB/256GB SSD would be of greater benefit

5th Generation Core M-5Y10 Benchmarks [] - fanless design

Passmark score of 2817 @ 800MHz(expected to be higher than at higher speed) . Not bad for a fanless low TDP ( lower heat, power i.e longer battery life) design. Compare to Core i5-4200U with a passmark score of 3279 []

you can also apply 5% off promo code by text MSHS to 29502 to get promo code instantly. Then you can text STOP to 29502 to cancel it.

The total cost before tax after you apply educational discount and 5% promo will be $597.64, which is $100 off than original price listed. The total cost with CA tax will be $645.45 with 8% online sell tax - Greeny9296

This item is free return as long as you make no hassles on it within 30 days for full refund(full refund? correct me)

The above passmark score is for a different CPU. Here is the passmark score for this CPU: benchmark []
The passmark score is 2568, not 2817. Still not too bad, escecially if you do not use any CPU intensive activity for a continuous stretch of time (like greater than a couple of seconds to avoid head build up and prevent turbo from being throttled.)

Is there any way to configure the specs? According to the SSD can range from 128GB-512GB. I'm wondering if I'd be able to get it a bit cheaper with a 128GB ssd instead of the 256GB that's currently listed.

Fantastic value - better than most FP laptops. Asus build quality on the Zenbooks is pretty nice too. Can't wait for it to go on sale Smilie

What does "Networking Integrated or 802.11ac" mean? Does this have 802.11ac or not? Anyone know how this compares to the UX31A-DB51?

Is their return hassle free?

I'm not sure about the processor and the keyboard but everything else looks promising. If I have to return, I hope they don't have a restocking.

Seen elsewhere on the web
> The screen uses an IPS panel and it is well-made, because being without touch screen comes with a matte finish that helps readability.

Oops! No touchscreen?

It's pretty hassle free. They offer free return shipping and as long as you include all of the accessories and the laptop is still in "sellable" condition you won't have a problem. They don't charge a restocking fee to my knowledge. It's also really easy to return it in-store if there's one near you.

Also, there's an additional 5% off coupon as part of their text deals.
