Seeing there has been a lot more vaping threads, I figured it would be nice to start a thread here in the lounge where vapers could chat, discuss vaping, deals on vaping, and their setups.I have noticed a lot of vapers in the forums and people who are looking to try out vaping.

So if you are a vaper, looking to quit smoking, or just looking for some info come join us Smilie

Those not interested in vaping or looking to discuss/debate health topics, negatives or anti-vaping opinions are more then welcome to post elsewhere. This is not the place.

0 Nicotine? So it would just be flavored vapor at that point, kinda like an O2 bar? Is there anything other than the flavoring in it at that point that could be toxic etc? Sorry for the questions if they're stupid I just don't know anything about vaping.

e-Juice is basically composed of:

Nicotine base
Propylene Glycol [wikipedia.org] USP
Vegetable Glycerin USP
Flavoring

Vegetable Glycerin USP and Propylene Glycol USP are safe for human consumption and are in numerous everyday products. I don't know if there are any prolonged inhalation studies though, but for skin contact and ingestion, they are safe under normal conditions.

These parts are what suspends the flavor and creates the heavily visible vapor. If you try to vape straight water, chances are that you will not even see the vapor. I have tried this, you can taste the water vapor, but there is nothing on the exhale.

Sadly, I have been to an O2 bar back in the day. It was such a waste, lol. O2 at normal temp is a straight gas, not vapor.

I wouldn't even think of Mechanical Mods or unregulated boxes until you are very comfortable with building coils, Ohms laws, and completely understand battery safety.

iStick 50w has made quite a few of the unregulated mods lose their appeal in my eyes, unless you must have the ability to swap and replace batteries. 50w for $50!

I stumbled across a good price on the Joyetech eGrip (20W).
$49.99 + $5 shipping (shipping is free if you order e-juice)
eGrip [vapenw.com]

They also have accessories for the eGrip in stock too
Accessories [vapenw.com]

I have one of these. I ordered it through a pre-order on ebay for $60. They normally sell for $70.
The coils that it comes with is ok, but I prefer rba base. It increases the airflow significantly.

Hello everyone,

Joined this thread from the MVP thread. Ive been vaping for about a year now. I did really good for the fist 8 months or so, but over the last couple months Ive been going back to cigs on occassion. Lately my vaping experience has been inconsistent. My ego would hit fine at night and then when i picked it back up in the morningI had to mess with it to get it working properly.

My current setup is the MVP 20w, with a kanger aerotank. Getting a tank with a sealed 510 connector has been the biggest improvement Ive ever experienced in my time as a vaper. I cant tell you how many tanks ive had that leakied from the bottom of the tank that connects to the battery. The newer ones are sealed so that it doesnt drip into your battery and ruin it.

Im a SD'er through and through- I bought the aerotank because the coils are easy to rebuild myself. That was part of the reason I think I had inconsistent vapes because perhaps I wasnt building the coils uniformly. So for that reason, I bought a VW unit (the mvp), that will allow me to set the end wattage and adjust the volts automatically based on what kind of coil I have in there.

Im currently vaping around 7-8W. I need to find a cheaper source of juice. I typically spend about 15 on a bottle of juice that lasts me about 2 weeks.

This is what I am trying to do right now! I am currently vaping Halo Tribeca at ~$20 for 30ml. While not bad, its still and expensive juice. I have tried Mount Baker and was not too impressed. I'm gonna let it steep a month and try it again. The closest thing I have found is from Heather's Heavenly Vapes, called heavenly tobacco. If I had found it before the Tribeca it would be my ADV, but alas it is just not as good...

If anyone has any suggestions on an RY4 like Tribeca I would appreciate it Smilie

I like it because you cant really taste the tobacco flavor, very, very, subtle!

I found my juice form Mount Baker was super chemical tasting at first. I used an ultrasonic on and off for 2 days, and most taste like I steeped them for a long time. I really recommend ultrasonics. I still need to do some of the stronger flavors and ones with flavor shots, like the Marchino Cherry, that one is nasty right now. laugh out loud

I also have weird Vapers Tongue it seems, I can barely taste most my juices, never could. I think its because I use high VG.

What do people mean when they say they steeped/aged them? Well I get what that means but does the flavor etc really change from letting it age like a wine? Are there certain ways to let them age like wine i.e. temp/humidity/light?

Most places you get them, they mix them fresh. So you need to put it in dark room, open cap, shake a few times a day, etc. It's so the ingredients have time to mix up. I bypass it by using an ultrasonic which seems to speed up the process. Dontknow

I have a question and hope it's not OT, as I am genuinely curious but NOT interested in becoming a ... uhh ... vaper? Vapor? Vapist???? Huh

Do people vape because they quit smoking or do they smoke and vape? If they do it because they quit smoking, is that for health reasons? Or is vaping just another fad? Dontknow

Or another question could be... Does anyone vape that hasn't smoked, because they just like the flavor/feeling with potentially no nicotine?

Aside from being cheap, which is one of the main reasons I never smoked cigs/weed, I could see myself doing it as an oral fixation sort of thing since I'm always biting my nails or chewing on a straw etc.

Some do it to quit smoking, some do both, some have never smoked and just enjoy the flavors. People do it to quit smoking for all the same reasons people have quit smoking for decades.
I bought my first e-cig back in '08-'09, and the tech has only continued to improve since then.

I just ordered some juice from Dr. crimmy. I have heard really good things online so I decided to give it a shot. 125ml can be picked up for $30.00. They are in GA so hopefully I get them early next week. Iff i find a juice I like I am picking up 500ml for $110.00 and splitting it with a friend.

Joined this thread from the Aspire Atlantis V2 thread. I'm currently using an Aspire Atlantis V1 with a custom-built 1ohm coil with an iStick 50W. I make my own juices because the markup locally is just insane. I sell them, too (for about a third of what the stores charge), but it blows customers' minds when I tell them that some flavors will take a week or two. The concept of steeping them to get the flavorings right and consistent is beyond all but one shop in my area.

I will say that if you're looking to quit smoking, the right mod, flavor/strength and tank/RDA is absolutely essential. I tried Blu years ago when they were pretty much the only thing available and it did nothing for me.

Boston Girl, I use subtle heat the first day, then an ultrasonic cleaner for the next two. Natural peach or strawberry flavorings can still take weeks, even using speeding methods, though.
