I agree. Been waiting for a Surface 3 deal. But another hundo on a keyboard makes me hesitant.

Don't get me wrong, good price, but it will make me think about it.

Is 4GB memory enough when likely running multiple applications at the same time?

I agree 100%. These really need to come with in all cases, no pun intended. Still SP3s ROCK!

Depends on what the applications are of course. Probably so though if they're not games or graphics intensive..

Only 4GB of RAM? Good price, but i'm assuming that these can't be upgraded. I'd much rather have 8GB.

64GB or 128GB version with 4GB RAM
256GB or 512GB version with 8GB RAM

You're correct, these are non upgradable.

I'm not sure why people are keep saying SP3 should come with a keyboard. Sure, you need a keyboard to be productive if you are typing a document or working on spreadsheet. However, the keyboard is an "accessory" and not a necessity. I use my SP3 mostly without the type cover as it replaced my iPad and majority of the time I use it as a tablet.

Also, if the $120 type cover is too much, one can always buy a decent $20-$30 bluetooth keyboard. I have a Logitech 810 which has a back lit keyboards and it works really well when I feel like I'd rather use a detached keyboard with my SP3.

I'm going to say 4GB ram is not enough. The surface pro 3 is not really up-gradable. Even Ifixit.com broke the screen trying to open it and the RAM is soldered to the motherboard. Other than just using this for browsing the net and simple word/excel, videos, I'd say 4GB is on the minimum requirements side. Multiple browsers and multitasking windows will fill up the ram fast. My work PC used to have 4GB and with several windows, excel spreadsheets, and work programs running, at around 2.9 GB usage the system became extremely slow. 8Gb would be ideal.

I'm not sure what type of applications you run but for me the 4GB has been plenty. I haven't had a need for more ram but I'm a casual user so that might be the reason.
