Really good lens for the price... I use this as my walk around when going on trips with the family.

Hmm last day of the 10% off ebay coupon is today, so this is actually $224 and change. I think that's actually a good price on the used market right?

Scroll down in the ebay description:

Optical Stabilizer (OS)

Sigma's own unique Optical Stabilizer (OS) function is incorporated. It offers effective correction of approximately 4 stops, which makes it possible to compensate camera shake even in macro range photography where a small blur can be easily identified. When photographing a moving subject such as motor sport, it automatically detects camera move, and offers effective correction for camera shake.

Product page says OS is unavailable for Sony and Pentax.

I tried this lens for a week but didn't like it.
This was intended to be my walk-around lens.

Optically, this lens is worth the money.
But this lens had an annoyance that I couldn't tolerate.
When I pointed the lens slightly down and I wanted to zoom in quickly (extending the lens), I found that the lens resisted.
If I pointed the lens up and tried to zoom out quickly, the lens resisted.

My guess is the resistance was built in to the lens barrel to minimize lens creep. But there was too much resistance that it interfered with zooming.

I have the Canon 55-250mm STM lens. It has a little bit of resistance but not enough to interfere with my fast zooming in or out.

It's worth noting that this lens auto-focused pretty quickly but the gear noise was very noticeable if you used this lens for video.
The auto-focusing of Canon STM lens was virtually silent during video recording.

i use this lens 100% of the time over the 55-250 (whatever the stock 2 lens kit for the t1i zoom lens was). the lens, when the camera is pointed down, opens up. there is a switch that you can flip to lock the lens. other than that, beautiful pictures. thinking of buying this for my 3200.

Any one know if this would fit Sony A6000 E mount?
I see it says Sony Alpha, but is it A mount or E mount?
