This deal never died, and keeps getting reposted every single day because the original thread is in Deal Talk. Don't know why it was moved there - the deal always worked and never stopped working. People were trying to use the code on the cheaper version.

I wonder if this is just the beginning of price drops for Lenovos to regain consumer confidence.

Maybe hold out for a better deal? For an "Im sorry" to customers.

What are the chances that they have some codes in the BIOS that is doing something nasty?

Got in on this deal last night, only surprise was having to pay sales tax to WV. Those of you who can't deal with the possible issues with malware on this PC, wake up and welcome to the big bad world of privacy invasion. You should press your tinfoil hats firmly over your ears and go back to a manual typewriter.

Anyone out there who has tried to upgrade the RAM on this model... I have a PNY 8gb DDR3 SODIMM that I can't use on my dead laptop. The specs on this Lenovo is not DDR3, but DDR3L, which operates on 1.35V instead of 1.5V. I'd like to use it to double the RAM on the Y40-80. From what I've read, there's no harm in trying it, but it might not be recognized. Any thoughts on this?

Really good price, but I cant bite. No touchscreen no sale, sorry lenovo.

As for snapfish its not being used any longer, and lenovo even has removal tools they offer if you cant uninstall it yourself.

Is this currently the best laptop deal? I'm looking for a decent laptop, gamin gis not a priority. Would prefer it have a touchscreen, but how does Lenovo compare to Dell?

And can we please stop with the exact same Snapfish/superfish discussion in every single Lenovo thread?

IMO:

either this deal or if you want to go slightly higher, the Y50 here: http://slickdeals.net/f/7684983-lenovo-y50-laptop-i7-4710hq-8gb-ddr3-1tb-hdd-8gb-sshd-15-6-1080p-antiglare-led-2gb-geforce-gtx-860m-849-with-free-shipping

The Y50 has better specs all around, but is $250 more.

Thanks, but that's way out of budget (even the 600 here is stretching it).

Ideally I want to spend ~$300, max $400, on a decent laptop, hoping for Haswell + FHD. I don't mind refurbs. I don't think this is the right time to buy one with Skylake coming up, but right now I have a very old ebay Thinkpad on its last legs, but the damn thing has been a tank.
