red "x" on Outlook Icon.. what does it mean?

nicholas421 280 222 March 14, 2008 at 05:41 AM
there is an "x" over my Outlook icon in the notification area. It showed up out of the blue. What does it mean and how do i get rid of it? My email no longer sends/receives automatically. I have to manually click the send/receive button for it to work. I checked the settings under tools>options>mail setup and it seems to be set up ok.

i couldn't find anything in Google. Thanks.

It means that Outlook is set to work offline. Go to the File menu in Outlook and that option is probably checked. Uncheck it.
