The new 2015 Ruger LCP Custom is on sale at Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore for $295 with free shipping [sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com]. Alternatively, GrabAGun has it for $289 + $5.99 shipping [grabagun.com]. No tax unless you live in the same state of the store you buy from.

This Custom edition comes from the factory with a few key upgrades:
  • Skeletonized aluminum trigger
  • Dovetailed rear sight with photo luminescent front dot
  • Polished stainless steel guide rod
  • Polished sides

The Custom has great reviews especially from the upgraded trigger and sights.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

but cant convince wife that we should own a gun for our protection

too many stupid sensationalized stories on the news about some dumb parents leaving loaded guns out and kids getting access to them

Perhaps first purchase should be a gun safe?

In all honesty, the only way to get over gun fears is education. Perhaps your Local gun shop will hold free handgun safety courses to raise awareness. The best safety is between the ears.

Show her all of the stories about home invaders raping and killing.... If that doesn't work. Just buy one anyway. She doesn't like it... too damn bad. lol

because of the fact that she is against guns I bet she has little to no experience with them.

people are scared of what they do not know or understand.
take her out shooting and teach her gun safety and how a gun works.
also teach your kids gun safety.
doing this alone could save their lives if they come into contact with a gun unwillingly.

yes yes, all these things are good in practice, but you know how women can be emotional and not rational.

doubt she has any desire to go to a gun shooting range and not sure teaching a 5yo anything about guns (other than not to touch one) is good until they get older.

Buy her an apron, a mop, and an iron for her birthday she'll be so grateful she'll let you get the gun

My wife "made" me give up my guns after we married...like 3 days later. I should of took it as a sign and gave up the wife instead.

I have no idea why this isn't getting more TU. Nice deal on a great gun. I own one (not the custom model), and would love to have those dovetailed sights vs. the fixed ones on mine. You won't do better for a $300 pocket carry. TU + repped

My five year old has been taught to yell "NO", run away, and tell an adult. A valuable lesson to teach them, and you need a gun to do it. That may convince her...

Ask her if she thinks you are a dumb parents.

And if she says no then there's no reason you can't have a gun since you'll handle and store it safely.
