Got it for the same price yesterday from Newegg via eBay. I would have bought it from Amazon for the shipping and customer service though. Tax either way.

If ya'll have large sequential read/write loads, set over-provisioning in samsung magician to 20-25%, This will speed those up significantly if you have that type of work.

+1 256GB is smaller than it used it be, even as a boot / program drive.

Is this thing worth $30 more than the 850Evo? I am just looking to get a pair of 256 GB drives for my laptop and my wifes T450s and dont know if its worth pulling the trigger on these or waiting for a $100 or less deal on the Evos. I know the warranty is a bit better, but is the performance even going to be noticable day to day.

Amazon has been getting more and more shitty with me. I'm as big of an Amazon subscriber as anyone else, and I'm starting to explore other options. Just like anything else, when powerhouses have all the power they think they're the dictators

Found this on Amazon: "The 850 PRO uses MLC NAND and the 850 EVO uses TLC NAND.
The 850 PRO is also objectively faster usually you can only see this in professional environments which required large files to read and written randomly. You will not be able to perceive the difference on a consumer grade machine (that is not running these drives in RAID).
MLC usually has better endurance than TLC.

If you need an SSD for a home computer that is not going to be in a RAID get the EVO."
