They've had this for a while now, it's 6% vs. the student discount of 10%. This government discount also applies to the military.

all EPP pricing is the same and actually I think the EPP is a better discount overall other than the base model macbooks...software prices are slightly cheaper for EPP, but applecare is better with student discounts...kinda all balances out in my opinion

As a student, I can tell you it's almost always less expensive to buy Apple computers from Amazon. The $100 that you usually get off MacBooks for the student discount is dwarfed by the $75 MIR / no sales tax on Amazon. The same goes for most of the other models.

I also believe if you use your Discover card you get an extra 5% back from Discover when ordering online via the Discover website.

I was aware of the discounts too but still a good reminder.

Our family is going to be buying a new Macbook soon (waiting on tax rebate.) Our Titantium G4 550 is really long in the tooth.

What is everyone's experience with Mac Mall or PC Connection. The former has an additional 2% back at ebate$ and the later 1%. We usually always order from Amazon.

Is it really worth going with either of the other two companies for $13 or $26 savings (cash back.)? I've read bad things about rebates from Mac Mall. I'm assuming the rebate from Amazon will be flawless, as usual.

Thanks.

I just bought from the epp store and had it shipped to DE so no tax, but then I saw the deal from macmall for pretty much the same as amazon, they give you a rebate, but they also throw in a free printer and parallels software... I wish I'd seen that first.

And I don't believe they would charge tax. Anyone know about the tax situation?
