Why would anyone vote this down? Solid detector and I think close to the best price offered on this thing? I just used this driving down from NC to FL, worked very well, saved me at least two speeding tickets, I know radar snobs will say get the latest greatest, but for most this will suffice.

I am sending back the one I bought from Groupon (which takes forever to ship to the west coast) and ordered this one. $110 OTD!! Great deal.

Did you get a ton of false responses in fl? I just made that trip like 3-4 weeks ago and had no issues til I get in florida.

Got one of these last year directly from buydig (same price) and have been very happy with it. I'm gonna get a second one so I don't have to move mine back and forth. The only thing is it sometimesgives false laser alarms when driving at a specific angle into the sun. I sent it back in for service and they said they would recalibrate it.

Perfect timing.
The old 8500 x50 was beeping and displaying the service error.
So far I had three escorts die.

Valentine has been solid thus far.

I cannot see spending $400 on a Valentine. How does this compare as bang for the buck?

I'm not sure if Florida uses K-band traffic flow sensors, but that could be the cause of the falses in Florida. The M4 version of this detector can be updated with TSR, although these new ones should come with that already on board. They might not, depending on how long they've been sitting in the warehouse. I don't know if Escort even makes these anymore. Escort may charge to update it, I'm not sure. The S7 version unfortunately can't be updated.

This is very good bang for the buck. You lose the directional arrows with the Beltronics so you need to be more aware of your surroundings. You get 80-90% of the range of a V1 for 75% of the price.

Another reason why FL is a weird state.

This is very solid radar detector. This is no V1 that costs $400, but gets the job done very well. Not too many false alarms. I tried other brands on the same price range (Cobra, Escort and Whistler), and I like Beltronics better, do kept it.
