If USBank refuses to honor the bonus, file a complaint to your state attorney general and CFPB

US Bank is kind of picky, and is known to downgrade your application to a different card with inferior rewards program.
---This is true I was downgraded to regular US Bank Cash Rewards but at least I got 100 cashback after spending 500, which is the main reason I got the card.

If you are automatically downgraded to the regular Cash Rewards card, you will be eligible for an upgrade to the Visa Signature after 6 months. They would need to see regular usage and payment. YMMV of course, but you are not stuck with the inferior card forever.

on the page where you apply, there is a small line of words say that if you don't get approved for this cash+, you will automatically be approved for the basic card, which has 1% cash back everywhere. Given that 1% cash back is on almost every other credits cards in the market (Freedon, Amex, Discover, etc), the basic card is nearly completely useless. If you read carefully into the posts, most people got downgraded to the basic card.

I have this card and got it with no sign up bonus two years ago. Rewards used to be much much stronger and included unlimited 5% cash back on hotels and restaurants. While that's no longer the case, the unlimited 2% cashback on restaurants still isn't bad. It's also a Visa Signature so you can take advantage of Fandango's BOGO movie tickets in the summer (hopefully they continue to have it this year).

TD Bank is offering $200 on the first $500 with the cash rewards card. The thing is (the reason why I didn't post it) is you either need an offer sent by mail, or you need to go to an actual branch to get the offer. Or you need a bank account account. I figured I'd mention it since this is a CC thread.

Do the two 5% categories change each quarter? Trying to find a list of all categories -- would love one for online purchases, gas, etc for off-quarters with Chase Freedom and Discover It

There aren't 2 or 3 rotating categories like Freedom/Discover IT. They have a list (Select Clothing Stores, Gyms/Fitness Centers, Sporting Good Stores, Cell Phone, Bookstores, Department Stores, Electronics Stores, Fast Food, Furniture Stores, Car Rental, Charity and Movie Theaters - from OP) and you have to pick your two for the quarter.

I was a member a lot longer. When I started I had unlimited cash back on the 5% categories. I was fortunate I bought a very expensive TV back then. Couple years ago they implemented a cap (I believe it was $100 for $2000 spending). This year they ended the program for $25 bonus for every $100 cash back redemption. It used to be once every calendar year but they changed it to once per lifetime. Long ago the 5% categories were a lot better. For example, they had utilities which covered gas, electric, internet, cellular phone, cable, water bills. They replaced it with cellular providers. They also separated restaurants into "fast food" and "restaurants". Since this year they eliminated 2% drug store and put restaurant into the 2%. 2% gas is useless to me because my Bank of America will give me 3%. It's not going to surprise me if they continue to decrease the benefit of the card.

Is this US or Canada? We do our Canadian banking with TD but American banking with another bank. Any details on this offer?

Just an FYI/remider for anyone considering this card, you can get unlimited 2% cashback on all purchases with both the Citi Double Cash Rewards Mastercard and Fidelity Investment Rewards Amex. You can get unlimited 5% cash back on all gas purchases w/ the PenFed Platinum Cash Rewards Visa (Plus version). Chase Ink offers "5% cash back* on the first $25,000 spent in combined purchases at office supply stores and on cellular phone, landline, internet and cable TV services." and is currently offering a $200 bonus after a $3k spend (https://creditcards.chase.com/ink...-cash-card).

Chase Freedom and Discover offer 5% back on restaurants next quarter ... unfortunately they're overlapping this year; in previous years they were staggered, so 6 months of 5% back (up to $1500/quarter).

If this card would let me get 5% back on restaurants all year long, I'd hop on it even with no signup bonus.
