Lenovo G50 (80E30181US) 15.6" Laptop: AMD Quad-Core A8-6410, 6GB/500GB, Radeon R5, Win 8.1 $249.99
Those asking for Intel comparisons, the A8-6410 is much closer to the i3 Haswell family, such as the the i3 4030U , not the i5 series.
The i3 outperforms on general tasks, despite being a dual core
A8 6410: 2513
More cores does not always equal faster performance. For example, the Galaxy S5 is an "octa" core. Doesn't mean it touches these processors.
As for graphics performance, although AMD's APUs generally have better integrated performance, the IGPU found on the A8 6410 is on par with the i3's HD 4400 graphics, comparable to the HD 4200: "The performance of the Radeon R5 is slightly above a Radeon HD 7470M or the Intel HD Graphics 4200."
The best thing about that notebookcheck.net link is that you can view individual game performance to see if it suits the personal games you play. In some games, the R5 beats the 4400. In others, the reverse is true.
Overall assessment: "There are a little over 50 games benchmarked, and the Radeon R5 only performs better in 10 of those games which are listed below."
With that said, this is still an unbeatable deal, as currently no i3 laptops are on sale for the $250 price point.
