What is the deal?
A LG Optimus F3 LTE Phone for $29.99. You’ll be getting a one-month free trial of the Unlimited Everything Plan. That’s unlimited talk, text, and data. The first 1GB of data will be at 4G LTE speeds and all subsequent data will be at 3G speeds. The Unlimited Everything Plan normally costs $19.99/month.

You are always welcome to downgrade to the 100% Free Plan, which consists of 200 Voice Minutes, 500 Text Messages, and 500MB of 4G LTE/3G data. Downgrading can be performed directly on your online account page or on your phone.

What networks does it use?
The LG Optimus is able to connect to Sprint’s 4G LTE and 3G networks. It can also connect via WiFi.

Does 3G access cost any money?
No, unlike our hotspot plans, there is no cost for nationwide 3G access. It is included as a part of the Free plan.

What if I need more data while on the Free Plan?
When you approach your monthly data limit, you have the option to either have your data service suspended for the remainder of the month, or continue usage on a pay-as-you-go basis. Each additional megabyte of data used beyond your original allotment will cost $0.02 per MB.

If I’m on the Free Plan, what happens if I need more Minutes and Texts?
When you reach your monthly limit of 200 Minutes and 500 Text Messages, your phone service will suspend itself. If you wish to have more Minutes and Texts, you would need to upgrade to a higher plan.

Can I port my existing number over to FreedomPop?
Yes, you can port your number. There is a one-time cost of $9.99 to Port your number.

Can I exceed my data limit, even if it’s set to suspend itself?
With automatic top-up disabled (found in the Billing Settings of your account), your data service will suspend itself when you’re within 100MB of your data limit. Please note that there is a 3-hour delay in data reporting from Sprint’s towers to our system, so there is a slight chance that you can exceed your limit if there is significant usage within that 3-hour window. If you’re only browsing the web/reading articles, then you should be fine. However, if you’re doing high data usage activities during that window (such as Netflix or large downloads), then there’s a chance you can go over, since our system won’t recognize that you’re at your limit in time to suspend you.

What kind of coverage do I need? What network do you use?
The LG Optimus requires a data connection in order to send/receive calls and texts messages. The data connection can including WiFi, 4G LTE, or 3G. To check out 4G LTE and 3G coverage, visit http://www.freedompop.com/coverage3g4g. Be sure to select the 4G LTE and 3G boxes. Connecting to any local WiFi network works too!

Will different data connections affect call quality?
As with all phone services, call quality is entirely dependent on your coverage/proximity to your local cell towers. Call quality will be better when you’re connected via either 4G LTE or WiFi, when comparing to 3G.

How about app updates?
The FreedomPop Development Team is constantly working to improve all aspects of our phone service, ranging from battery life to latency. As a result, we will release updates to our Messaging App that will increase the overall quality. In order to take advantage of these improvements, you would need to update the FreedomPop Messaging App in the Google Play Store.

How do I get even more free data every month?
You can connect with other FreedomPop users through Freedom Friends (found on your account page) and earn up to an extra 500MB of extra data, every month for free! Check out this thread- http://slickdeals.net/f/5276432-freedompop-friends

How long for shipping?
Estimated shipping time-frame is 2-3 weeks. As the deal gets more popular, shipping times may increase.

Have a Billing Issue?
We encourage all our users to come to us first to see if we can explain any charge or resolve any billing issue before further escalation.

Customer Support:
Email is probably the best way to reach us (support@freedompop.com) or you can go to our Community Forum (http://forums.freedompop.com). If you absolutely must speak to us, you can call (888) 743-8107 (M-F 9am-5pm PDT). You can also PM us!

Trouble with initializing or connecting to 4g/3g after you received the phone?

TO DOWNGRADE TO THE FREE PLAN:

On a PC go to t-i-n-y-u-r-l (dot) c-o-m
/downgrademyfp

*Note Remove "(dot)" in above and "-" between characters.
*You might have to be logged in for above url to work.
(Alternatively Google "/downgrademyfp")
Take screenshots during each step.

Follow directions below:

If above link doesn't work:
Got to FreedomPOP.com

*NOTE you will need to navigate to VOICE section /Check the SERVICES sections for any SERVICES as well and do basically the same thing as described below. EG Deslect , change, make sure changes have applied. Log out, then back in, Verify... then about (2) business days later e-mail FreedomPOP CS to confirm changes applied, status of any charges, etc on account.

Login to your account via PC, go to plan section and look for a link in a tiny font size that gives option to downgrade in the section that shows your plans that says Downgrade your plan.
Example for the DATA part of the plan.

http://www.freedompop.com/acct_dataplan.htm

Upon clicking link, you (may) have to navigate thru several pop ups that discourage you to do so. Read each screen carefully.. click on thru. IIRC

Once changes apply, log out, back in go to account to verify. Additionally check in your account VOICE part of plan was downgraded and double check Services page as well.
TIP: For good measure clear browser cache, before logging back in.

PS: Make sure to make screenshots of each step.. People have reported after downgrading changes not taking place.
*I would think that changes might not show for at least 24hrs...

TIP: For good measure (2) business days later in addition to checking website once again to verify changes are showing e-mail FreedomPOP (support@freedompop.com) and ask for confirmation changes processed /amount due/charges pending.

Why e-mail vs calling?
1: You will have something in writing. (Proof change applied, status of account)
2: Better use of your time.

Q: IS LG OPTIMUS F3 LS720 TRI-BAND, aka SPRINT SPARK capable?
A: NO.

The LG Optimus F3 LS720 LTE is single band, not Tri-Band (SPRINT SPARK) capable phone.
LTE connection is thru Band 25 (1900mhz) ONLY, it is not capable of Band 26 (800mhz for penetration into buildings/underground structures,) Band 41 (2600mhz) that gives the fastest speeds

=====================================
500MB FREE EACH MONTH?
Yes and No.

Real data limit for 500mb plan is really only 400mb if you "deselect" the default option in your account that gives FreedomPOP permission to "Auto top off" account or whatever they call it.

Additionally note on anything but one of the unlimited plans that there is a 3-hour delay in data reporting from Sprint’s towers to our system, so there is a slight chance that you can exceed your limit and be hit up with additional charges if there is significant usage within that 3-hour window
Slight chance???? Installing a couple of apps, installing (1) game (Badlands was like 148mb) via the network vs Wi-fi, or viewing video would easily eat up 100mb+ so watch your data usage like a hawk unless you want to get hit up with charges!

quot;Fixedsys"]Any links for rooting/rom etc:

The old thread for adding wifi-tether to the ZTE Force seems to work fine on the Optimus as well! Here's the link to it:
https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=74457826&postcount=972
Update, seems to be working for some but not others. A couple changes to the above directions though:
1) Use "Change Setup-Method": Netd-Ndc (master) instead of Netd.
2) Also start with encryption off and use ssid of "aaa".
Then once you can confirm it's working, try turning on the encryption.

10/13/15 - UPDATE for those still trying to get tethering to work on this phone:
I had a friend ask me how I got it working and we went thru all the steps over the phone and still couldn't get it working. Finally, I said "just mail me the phone and I'll mess with it". Well it took him 3 months to mail it, but I started messing with it and finally got it to work with the regular wifi tether app from the above link.
Here's the settings I used, so if you can't get it to work with the above steps, try these instead:
Device-Profile: Generic ICS/JB (wlan0)
Setup-Method: auto
Send Netd Max Client Cmd: not checked
Enable Wifi-Encryption: Checked
Passphrase: 88888888
SSID: freedompop
Max Address Spoof: not checked
don't disable bluetooth: not checked
wifi-driver reload: not checked
wifi-driver reload 2: Checked
Enable Access control: not checked
Keep Alive: not checked
Shutdown timer: not checked
Idle Shutdown: not checked
Quota: not checked
LAN: 192.168.1.0/24
MSS Clamping: Checked
Routing Fix: Checked
The rest, nothing changed except "vibrate on connect" and "dable wake-lock" are checked

SOME IMPORTANT NOTES: when I first started the tether, it didn't appear to be sending the SSID. So I added it manually. Then it appeared. I don't know if I just didn't wait long enough or if it does need to be added manually. But once I connected, my phone found it every time.
Also, I always start with encryption off and a short ssid like "aaa", just to keep things simple. Then I changed the ssid to freedompop and it still worked. Then I added the encryption and it still worked.
Good luck to anyone who is still trying to get this to work!! Let me know if you have any other issues, and I'll see what I can do.
Raj

These phones should ship within the estimate 2-3 timeframe, as stated on the checkout page. There has been an issue with shipping phones from a previous promo. We are working on getting that one entirely resolved. Very sorry for any troubles that you have experienced.

This is why I asked, to get multiple personal experiences to know if I should order it myself.

The price point of the phone B-Stock is good, a deal to me personally, but the recent shipping issues are putting me off, even as the OP.
Hopefully it was a one time mistake.

I ordered a LG Viper a week ago for one of my daughters and it shipped out 2 days later. I have a FedEx tracking number already and it's at the local Post Office delivering tomorrow. So obviously not everyone has shipping issues. In fact I just ordered an Optimus F3 for another one of my daughters just now.

I ordered 2 Moto Photon Q's (1 in January and another one in early April) and one ZTE Force (ordered in Feb while waiting for first Photon).

First Photon took 2 months to ship
ZTE force took about 2 weeks to ship
2nd Photon shipped next day.

Overall I am happy with the service. The shipping part is a bit of a crapshoot as you can see, but if you're willing to wait...I'd jump on the deal.

Decent phone.

Pro's: Easily rooted. Running Jellybean.

Cons: Limited built in storage. Slower 1.2Ghz vs ZTE Force 1.5Ghz
