It's because it's considered a chat thread, chat thread posts don't count toward your post count!

Here's a few of the dumbest I've heard...
CVS printable - manager said I couldnt use it because it wasn't printed with color ink
A Kmart manager told me I couldn't use a $1 Glade coupon on a $2.50 candle, because it was ON SALE!
I honestly wouldn't expect any different from a Kmart manager though.

1- At Target, the cashier told me that I couldn't use all of my coupons because I was saving too much money,
Cashier - "If you use all of these, your total will go waaayyy down" (spoken slowly so I could understand)
Me- "That's the whole point of coupons- to spend less money" (spoken slowly but still no understanding???)

2- At CVS, I was using a coupon for batteries and buying a pack with a Shrek head bonus thing and cashier said, "You can't use this coupon because the picture doesn't match - see, your batteries have a Shrek head and the ones on the coupon don't"Confused

OK, I saw several mentions of the whole not in color. I haven't run into that issue.... yet. But, a lot of the IP coupons say color OR b/w. Plus, even the CVS printed ones say b/w OR color. But, when I print high value coupons. I make sure to print in color and on a glossy paper. Just so I hopefully don't have to deal w/ any comments or non-acceptance.

Another popular one is limit one per purchase. I finally ran into a problem with that at CVS w/ the Glade Wisps. The cashier would only let me get one. Even though I told her that I am purchasing two. One coupon per item. But, no go. But, I am noticing that more coupons are saying limit one per customer. I am beginning to think that will be interrupted as one item/coupon per customer/transaction.

It seems the only problems I've had with printed coupons at CVS took place with-in a major city. So, I am thinking the district could be a little more strict on coupons.

I did run into a problem at Meijer w/ the $2 Pepsi coupons. I purchased $2 in Pespi product (2-2Lts). But, the cashier would only allow them to be $1 (since 1 2Lt was $1). Fine. Went to CVS and purchased 3-2Lters and received $2 off.

" I can't take this coupon because then you'll get the item free! "
If I only had a penny for every time I've heard that one.

" I know what you're trying to do, you are trying to bring your bill down to zero!!! "
No...really?
I really think cashiers don't want to see people saving money. Some may not be able to figure it out for themselves. Now, when I cashiered. I made note of any deal I saw. I knew the store would get reimbursed for the coupon and even make $0.08 on it. I am glad that the CVS's near me have cashiers that are entertained by my savings.

Tried to buy Rembrandt Professional Whitening Kit for $8.75 at CVS. There was a $7.50 coupon stickie on the product and cashier wouldn't take it cause the product was already on clearance.

His exact words: "I don't think Rembrandt wants people to buy a $35 product for $1."
I told him that the coupon was a stickie on the actual product itself, and that it was a manufacturer's coupon, so CVS will get reimbursed for that $7.50. Still no go.
He said "I don't want to get in trouble with my manager."

I just shook my head and left without buying anything else.
I purchased the $8.25 & $6.25 boxes at first w/o any problems. But, then on the $6.25, they would say it's on clearance and couldn't take the coupon or that it exceeded the value. They could just change the value and then they get reimbursed for the full face value.

Um Confused, coupons are for saving money and to get people to try the product at a lower price, so that they will purchase it later. Hopefully, at full price.....

Awwww, cute widdle n00b. Comfort Chat threads don't count towards post count. I wanted everyone who could/would particpate to see it. So I made it a chat thread. At least that was my reasoning. But now I wonder, if you search by tags, does it leave out the chat threads? I bet it does. nod

They did this to me too, lol. The cashier pointed to the pictures on the coupon and said that it was for items like that. Eventually he finally just decided to scan it after I had said fine I would use it later.

i laughed at this thread earlier because i had never been denied a coupon...and then i head out to cvs, and get denied using 2 of the same coupons in the same transaction, because the coupon says "one per purchase"...i tried to explain to the cashier that each of the two items are purchases, and the coupon did not say "one coupon per transaction"...but he wouldnt budge. oh well. i'll be back during the day.

I've also been denied the use of a coupon because it says "one per purchase" and according to the cashier that means "one per transaction". I wish there was a way to get through that "per purchase" means "per each item purchased".

A while back, I tried to use the $2off$10(exp 1/31) coupon for a gallon of milk and a couple of other things. The coupon said: ...any non-prescription purchase...or something to that effect. The manager said it had to be for flu or cold medication(presumably because that is what was pictured on the coupon). I asked him to read the coupon back to me...then I asked him if the milk is a prescription purchase. He said no, it is not.laugh out loud

Alas, that wasn't enough. You see, non-prescription became any medication that doesn't require a prescription.EEK!

He eventually let me use it, but I admired his commitment to his story.

My question is: why wasn't this guy in law school???Confused

Same thing happened with me. I was told by a shift supervisor that I can't use $4 of 20 coupon because it says non prescription merchandise. I even called CS from the store and even they explained to him that I could buy anything.
According to him non prescription merchandise means OTC medication only.

same thing happened to me... i think i told the story on here before...an older female cashier was very rude saying that i couldnt use the coupon...i asked her if i had any prescription items in my order (answer was obviously no), so i say to her "so i dont have any prescription items in my order...so...these items must be.....NON-prescription" she was pissed, but knew i was right and conceeded.
