Thread Details

I recently decided to ditch my $150/month Verizon Fios bill. After cancelling everything, I went back to sign up for internet again, and Verizon offered me 25/25 Mbps internet-only for $29 on their website because my house was already wired for Fios. 50/50 was $39/month and 75/75 was $49/month. All options included a 24 month contract. My location is northern VA, for reference. I hope this helps anyone out there on the fence decide to go ahead and cut the cord.

Germantown MD. Can't get it to show that nice price.

Right now I'm sitting out of contract at 85$/m with them.

How and when did you get that deal? Over the phone? Was it online? Thanks.

Are you guys just signing up for internet? Or doing double or triple play? I'm on a pathetic plan out of contract but it's Triple Play. I'd like to sign up again and put in another household name, but absolutely cannot lose my home phone number as it's been in the family for 40 years. Just wondering how to go about this? I'm in Alexandria area of NOVA. The deals I check with my current account suck. And when I try to check deals for a new subscriber, when I put in a neighbors address, they already have Fios so I can't check pricing. Argh!!

It's online.
I see it, too. Go to verizon.com and click on residential. Click on any double play package and hit "see availability" or something like that. Enter your home address and it will say "yes, the offer is available" but then undernearth that, it will say "shop all bundles". Click on shop all bundles and it will take you to another page. The deals are there.
Everything is regional so you won't see any "deals" if you go to their website without providing your home address.

Can't you port your number to google voice? Then, get a new number and make it ring whenever people dial your google voice number aka your 40yr old number

Showing as available for me in PA.

$29 for 25Mb, $39 for 50Mb, $49 for 75Mb, 2 year contract req'd.

Price jumps to $99/mo for 150Mb.
Other options are 50Mb+Preferred HD for $74, or 50Mb+Extreme HD for $84.
Difference between Preferred HD and Extreme HD is $10/month, as well as 25->50Mb and 50->75Mb.

I'm in south jersey, not wired for FIOS. They want $55 from me.

Do I have to sign up for a month with a no contract plan, cancel after getting wired, and then sign up again, in order to get a discount?

Edit: Actually, wait. The site says "YOUR HOME IS ALREADY WIRED FOR FIOS," so I guess maybe my area is just out of luck? : (
