Good deal, and it looks like Win 7 prices may finally be dropping prior to the Win 10 rollout. Last week I picked up Win 7 Pro SP1 from Newegg for $109.

Good deal. TU. Did Microsoft ever reveal if all Win 7 and 8 users will be allowed a free upgrade to 10?

You know that the OEM COA sticker on computers is a real Serial, right?

Just find an old computer that is being decommissioned and get the serial from that. Many businesses just toss the system.

Note that the serial on the COA is not actually used to install windows for that system They use automatic SLIC authentication.

At this point, Windows 7 should be free.

Yes, they are offering a Free Upgrade to Windows 10 for all Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 Users for the first year after it's retail release.

Also, there is new speculation from WZor that Microsoft may offer Windows 10 Free for all members of the Windows Insider Preview program who are beta-testing the OS before it's commercial release.

yes MS is already predicting 1 billion users of its 10 platform before even it launched. Apple does the same thing after it has achieved it. which one is better, you be the judge.

Microsoft is quasi-Trojaning the rollout of W10. It will appear in W7 as an update which if you have set to automatically load, you will boot up to a massive install and a new OS. Even if you don't have it set to go automatically most people click through updates without a thought. Almost overnight most people will likely switch to W10 and not understand how it happened.

Does anyone know when support for Windows 7 will stop?

I haven't followed the W10 news a ton, but am aware of the free upgrade. Will we be able to re-format on the free upgrade, I haven't seen that specifically addressed.

This is probably going to be the cheapest way to get a legitimate Windows 10 installation come late July.
