This is my first post, apologies if I have done anything incorrectly.

I was wandering around the Straight Talk website when I came across this.
http://www.straighttalkbyop.com/

It seems that the new data cap is 5GB per month if you have a Bring Your Own Phone which is up from the previous limit of 3GB per month. I have done a bit of research and couldn't find much useful info about this new offer. The page doesn't seem to mention if this will apply to those with existing accounts, though I don't see why it wouldn't. It does not apply to those with Straight Talk branded phones, which I find to be a bit odd.

TLDR: 5GB/mo data cap up from 3GB/mo for BYOP devices, no increase in cost.

Existing users will get a Text Message telling them about this change and letting them know that the new 5 GB limit applies starting their next monthly cycle...Smilie

Weird that they don't allow their own branded handsets the other 2gb.

How to check this works for existing customers? They are not the best MVNO to reach for CS over the phone/emails..

Wow. Great news. I went over 3gb the last 2 months and was throttled. I was almost headed to Cricket.
