Still using my ProHD. Works great 8000 miles away. "HD" picture from a fiberoptic line at the source location.

Awesome deal. For cord cutters it is useless. I have the proHD sitting in a box somewhere.

Other than ProHD's lack of Chromecast support, how do these newer models compare with ProHD?

Do you have HDMI or component/composite video cable?
If you only have HDMI, buy the 500.
If you have component video cable, you can buy the M1 or the 500.

I bought the 500 to upgrade my installation - the cable decoder I have is not working with the component video cable if a HDMI cable is not attached AND the device attached to the HDMI is not turned on. The other cable decoder is a composite video only (1 cable for video signal only), so the video quality is very poor.
