Thread Details

Searched and didn't find this deal, sorry if it's a repost. Today's local Target ad has the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 for $99.99 with a new 2yr contract (Sprint, Verizon, AT&T). It's written in the fine print below the caption. Took the ad to Best Buy where they price matched it, no questions asked. This is the best price I've seen on the Note 4 at a B&M store, Reg $299.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

NOT VALID FOR SPRINT.

ATT and Verizon only at Target.

Yep. With my corporate discount, familyshare plan, and phones like the Note 4 for $100, a contract can be worth it. A Note 4 without contract is like $700. I make sure to upgrade every 2 years, and sell the old phones to pay for the new ones.

with corporate discounts the best deal is the contract phones. significantly cheaper than paying for the non-contract price on an installment plan.

however you have to have a grandfathered plan to make it work because the All-In/My-Way whatever plans, they changed their policies so that the corporate discount only comes off the data - and that means a 25% corporate discount that used to shave $20 off $80/mo bill now only shaves $7.25 off a $30 data plan which ain't nothing. Smilie

The old plans will come down to $60/mo price w/ corporate discount.

Otherwise newer non-contract lines cost $60/mo unlimited + $30/mo for monthly phone plan installment, that's $90 dollars a month. You got a potential corporate discount on that but not sure how big the discount goes - might be on data only like the All-In/My-Way plans..

Here's a trick for everyone: buy on contract, then swap the line to another carrier to have them pay off the contract following the new carriers rules. Then swap back to Sprint to a no-contract plan to essentially pay off the contract sooner and be free (keep the contract headset, send them a headset off craigslist instead, if the carrier requires you to trade in your old device. also: swap the contract phone w/ the used phone first on the plan before switching carriers, to keep your good phone.).

I'm suspecting that this trick works best for anyone with a single line of service, that's $60 unlimited no contract plan - corporate discount = $45-$50/mo..
