I've been satisfied with their free service so far. I haven't used it that much. We have two FreedomPop phones in the house both are for my daughters to use in case of emergency. Definitely worth the free price per month. I'm still tempted to buy a FreedomPop Galaxy S3 for myself to play with as a secondary line. But I really don't NEED it. However I'm still strongly considering buying one. LOL

S3 is $90, the other two are definitely SPRINT/MVNO ONLY (not verizon) and no GSM, no tmobile/att

I like the Nexus 5 freedompop deal. That phone has GSM radios as well in case you want to jump ship from the freedompop/Sprint network. Stick Out Tongue

I think FP staff normally trolls these posts - I just signed up a BYOD phone that I relized doesn't have enough RAM for my tastes about a month ago for the $30 activation fee. Can I close out that line in exchange for credit toward buying a S3?

Oh so these phones are CDMA unlocked.

So they can be used with other CDMA carriers, other than Freedompop?

Unfortunately, your BYOD activation fee cannot go towards an S3. But when you make a new purchase, you get a 30 day free trial of our Unlimited Voice plan.

I did a S3 on the freedompop byod plan and I was really happy with the call quality. Battery life is actually pretty nice and can get a day out of it between wifi and cell towers. If you have really good coverage I would go with an S3 or higher device. Thinking about getting another one to replace the lg viper we got a few months ago for my mother. Just stay away from LG Viper LTE .....my 2 cents.

FYI its been over 10 days and my phone is just stuck device allocated. Will give it until Thursday. Was looking to test this before getting spares for the family but the devices will end up in limbo.

freedompop is pretty standard wait of at least 2 weeks on devices many times more. I have a few one devices with them the best of which is an s3. they really have improved over the last year. I'm waiting on my nexus order as well right now ready to switch to a newer device.
