Do you have any direct 3D experience with this model, or something very close to it?

Not a tax issue. I have a crapload of chase rewards points that I can use directly on amazon, so it costs me nothing. Although, now that you mention it, I can also just get a statement credit, and buy it on B&H instead and then it'll still be free. Can't believe I overlooked that. I've been waiting for quite some time now for this on amazon. Ha. I have to double check, but I don't think the points are worth any more as amazon credit than as statement credit.

I don't have any direct experience with this projector, but it's considered top of the line in this price range by many people. If you look through any recent front page projector threads on here, you'll see this or the 1070 always come up as excellent choices.

The only complaints I've ever heard are about people with high sensitivity to rainbow effect, and some people claim it can be a little noisy, but I'm not too worried about a little ambient noise. Also, the 1075 is supposed to be a little quieter than the 1070.

Appreciate the info - especially the noise issue. I'm a pro audio guy, so full-range sound half-shaking my walls, watching 3D, is a norm that overrides minor noise.

I have the short throw version of this projector. Can attest to it being amazing for movies. I don't game, so YMMV there.

Holy crap... Yesterday it was $775... Just 2 hours ago I checked it again for some guys on avsforum and it was $750 (I let them know) and now I come and see this!

ORDERED!!! Thanks

I still have Sony HW40 coming tomorrow, but I had 2 replacements already, they're all defective so unless tomorrow's one is absolutely perfect, I'm sending it back. I'll have worse blacks and 24hz and pocket $1800!
