Thread Details

I know this is a repost of an old thread, but Walmart is having a sale again, so this new post may help those who are looking. Price comparison to previous similar deal at Walmart, AT&T versions more by $1, Verizon iphone 6 16gb higher price (likely cos most people get this unlocked) but the 64GB (which is what I've been eyeing, 16GB seems too measly with no SD card slot) and iphone 6+ only more by $1. Sprint phones are significantly cheaper likely cos of issues with unlocking. Post on page 79 of old thread (see link below) has instructions on how to unlock for Sprint.

Stocks are likely limited (I purchased a gold iphone 6 64gb, and now showing OOS for that color). More details on return policy, unlocking etc can be found in old thread:

Nice deals, but there's no way I'm rocking a gold iPhone. Might have to swallow my pride and get white.

No, Sprint will only unlock devices released after Feb 2015

It says that the VZ model is locked but that's is not true. Verizon is forced to sell unlocked LTE devices to comply with their bands acquisition from a few years ago.

However it probably means only the activation using a VZ Sim is necessary. I may get one to try that out and flip it on eBay.

The upside is white is virtually smudge free.

Can ATT folks get LTE with a Verizon phone?

Wrong again, Doctor:

Sprint will unlock a device from Sprint's network under the following circumstances:

Any associated Service Agreement, Installment Billing Agreement, or Lease Agreement has been fulfilled including payment in full of any applicable early termination fees or end-of-lease purchase options
The associated account is in good standing
The device has not been reported as lost or stolen, associated with fraudulent activity, or otherwise flagged as ineligible to be unlocked

Generally, if you have a device that was launched prior to February 2015 and it is capable of being unlocked, Sprint will provide a bill notification and/or text message when you are eligible to have your device unlocked. The bill notification will direct you to Sprint Customer Care who can assist in efforts to unlock your device.

For domestic SIM unlockable ("DSU") devices launched after February 2015, Sprint will automatically unlock the device when it becomes eligible.

I was using Cricket wireless (on AT&T's network) fine all last year on my Verizon iPhone 5s.

16gb is too small for an apple device. When you do an OS update, you'll be required to delete all your data or transfer it to another device.

Yes you can get it unlocked. I have a 6+ I purchased on launch date last year and it has been unlocked. I am currently using my Sprint iPhone 6 Plus with a T-Mobile SIM card.

These are non-contract price. NO 2 year agreement required.

Just update it with your computer that has itunes installed. Then there is no need to delete stuff........

SMAN is correct. If you do a wifi update, it puts the update on your iPhones memory. If you use iTunes, the update is downloaded to the computer and the hard drive takes the hit on the update instead of the iPhone. If you've been doing wifi updates (which are not good to do) then I'd suggest backing up your iPhone, restoring the iPhone to factory settings and then restore from the backup. This will get you whatever memory was used to store the updates. It's not much but any little bit helps if you have a 16gb model.
