Thread Details

$5,000 = $50
$10,000 = $100
$20,000 = $200
$30,000 = $300
$40,000 = $400
$50,000 = $500

Must keep funds in account for 90 days to receive bonus. If you have a standard Capital One account (regular branch type), transfers after initial account opening are instantaneous between the two. Pretty easy, risk-free bonus with no extra requirements (bill-pay, DD, etc)

Seems like a great deal. Couple things. I previously had a free savings account through capital one. it had a 150 signup bonus. Will i qualify for this?

Second, you will pay taxes on the $500 BONUS.

It it was through regular Capital One, you will. If it was through ING/360, no.

It is a great deal but only if you have low debt. Otherwise, you are better off using the funds you have to pay off debt. The savings will add up to more and your credit score will improve.

I'd do this but I can't log in. If I say I'm new and enter my info it tells me I already have a Cap One 360 account but then when I try and logon it tells me for 3 days that "We're sorry, but we're unable to complete your request at this time. Please try again later."

OK, I am admittedly ignorant on the subject, but what is the difference between Capital One and Capital One 360? Are they different Banks run by the same parent?

Does an account with the former disqualify you from a bonus with the latter? Do funds from Capital One transferred into 360 count or not count for the purposes of the 360 bonus?

Capital One is a conventional brick and mortar bank, 360 is an online only bank. They have recently begun allowing transfers instantaneously between the two, but tellers at branches cannot see or assist with funds you have placed in the 360 accounts.

The two are viewed as two separate entities, so having a Capital One Bank account doesn't disqualify you from bonus, only having a 360 account disqualifies. Funds transferred from Capital One Traditional Bank do quality for the promotion.
