I'm not sure, most likely VA and not IPS.

I have a R9 290, so is it possible that I could do DisplayPort to HDMI to get 4k @ 60Hz? As I recall, the 290 doesn't have the most recent HDMI support, so going straight over HDMI won't get me 4k@60Hz.

Great TV for the size and price. I swear most of the complaints I hear on here about TV's are from gamers.

Just got mine home. I'll let you guys know what I think. I am gonna cancel my Vizio p502ui-b1e if this thing is any good. True 120hz, and 4:4:4? I'm hoping for the best.

Ok here are my initial impressions.

First off, know that I am not a videophile but I am a techie. So, there are some things I am looking for as I'm using this TV. Also, I am coming from a 47ls4500 LG 1080p TV I got a few years ago. The TV states 120hz but it is a native 60hz.

Gaming:

Wow. I have my xbox one connected to this thing and when I set it to game mode, the colors pop and the refresh rate is amazing. No crazy bad lag or anything.

Hooked up my computer to this as well and started to play some witches 3. Amazing once again. Colors pop, smooth animation (I have a gtx 970).

Sound:

Surprising well! Better than my old lg! I have a soundbar however, so I will be using that. But, if this is your only source of sound, it isn't a soundbar but it is better than average.

4k:

Tested it out using Netflix and so far so good. Looks great!

PC:

Looking through my nvidia panel, it says "hitachi engineering" on it. Do what you want with that info.

I cannot seem to find 120hz on that panel though. I'll look into it a little more.

More impressions later on as I use it more though.

It's a shame Hisense didn't have the good sense to get one of these in the hands of a good reviewer a Month ago who could have really put this through it's paces, particularly for those looking to use a 4K TV off their PC. I'm sure everyone wants to know if this can truly do 60Hz off a HDMI 2.0 GPU card without too many artifacts blurs tears and skips.

no, your HDMI is stuck at 4K 30Hz, and true DP 1.2 4K 60Hz to HDMI 2.0 4K 60Hz converters will be expensive and out EOY.

for those willing to risk it - here is what a PC on a 48" HDMI 2.0 TV looks like with a GPU capable of supporting it;
