Thanks for sharing, but you should have posted it separately. Not everyone is going to wade through 10 pages of discussion in that thread, looking for deals.

This is cheaper than the last FP deal on this SSD alone by $3.00: HERE

Good deal. Thumbsup

Good price, but tax negates the savings for CA folks like me.

The next best price is $89 at Frys [frys.com], and for a limited time, they aren't charging tax on all 850 Evo SSDs purchased in-store. Though, if you need more space, the 500GB drive for $149 at Frys is a much better value.

Yes. You can either replace your current hard drive with an SSD or replace your optical drive with a HDD caddy and put the SSD in there.

250gb seems a bit small for an OS drive in a laptop. How much increase in performance can you get compared to cpu upgrade? (i3 to i5/i7).thx

For those wanting to install this SSD in a laptop: it's 7 mm high/thick, and some laptop hard drive caddies are designed to hold 9.5 mm high drives, and may need a 2.5 mm shim. (That's the case with my wife's Dell Inspiron 1525.) Samsung doesn't sell those save in a package with a drive and hardware to facilitate transferring data between drives, so you may need to exercise some ingenuity.
