So this phone is used(YUCK) and from Choxi(double YUCK) but it's still a good phone at a decent price. The last deal I could find for it was for $300 new. Personally, I wouldn't buy crap from Choxi but many would so I'm posting this deal for completeness sake.

Per rover2005, COUPONS15OFF100 to take off $15. Getting worthy even from Choxi(YUCK).

Choxi.com promo code of " COUPONS15OFF100 " for additional $15 off!
Enjoy!

Only if you are ordering the first time from Choxi.com. "Unfortunately, this promotion can only be used the first time you order"

---> I just used another e-mail and created another account. No problem ordering...$85 total after checking out.

I can tell you why it's this way. There's refurbished, direct from the manufacturer like Sony and Apple. That will come indistingushable from new. Then there's "refurbished", as in ebay or CL or Choxi(YUCK). That's used.

For the long story read on.

These phones are warranty returns that get bought by a company and shipped to China, Shenzhen specially. Then in small stalls the size of cubicles, a tech will fix it. Then it gets sold to a vendor working in another small stall. These stalls are something everyone should see at some point. It's basically a mound of phones. There can be 100 phones of each type pre-sorted into packs of 10, then stacked into big columns. This is where your phone came from. Buyers come in and literally pick through all of them to find the best ones. They spend maybe 5 seconds checking each phone. Then they buy 50 or so at a time and ship them back to the US and sell them through ebay or Choxi(YUCK). The margins on these aren't really that high. A "refurbished" M7 for example goes for $100 in a Shenzhen stall. They sell for what, $150 or so on ebay. Factor in buying the charger, boxing it, shipping and ebay fees and the seller might eek out about $20/phone.

So what you get is luck of the draw. If it's the first pass the buyer makes in Shenzhen, it'll be pretty much like new. If it's the 4th or 5th pass they make, it'll be pretty rough.

I don't think you can get that phone cheaper anywhere .. including some random ebay listing.
I won't be buying phones with less than 64GB on board memory in this day and age, but otherwise this is still a respectable phone if you don't need screaming performance. I'd even venture to say best dollar to performance ration at this price.

No idea about the choxi experience though, never read/heard about them.

Sony themselves have it for $199 new on clearance. Not sure, but you probably have to pay tax and shipping too:

Personally, I would rather pay $199 to get it new and unlocked from Sony than used and locked from Choxi for half the price.

$169 + the mandatory $15 activation kit. Why it costs $15 for the kit when it sells for $10 normally in any retail store or is generally a $1 from T-Mobile directly is another question.

But T-Mobile certified preowned sounds a lot better than Choxi quick wipe down. Still with the $15 added to the $169. I think it's better to pay $16 more and get it new from Sony.

Where does it say it's free? For me it says "+ $15.00 SIM Starter Kit".

Dude, you should start a thread for that Z1S deal. To me, that's smoking.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. That and the $10 back in CB makes it a $85 phone. Not bad at all.
