Choxi has the Galaxy S3 (Sprint CDMA) for $89 + $2 shipping. Use coupon VIPTWE for 20% off, if that doesn't work try coupon SD10OFF50 (New Customers Only) for $10 off

I bought Nexus 5 from them couple of weeks ago, the phone arrived in about 10 days. It was shipped from FreedomPop and was in very good condition. My son is still using his LycaMobile service, can't comment on call qualify from FreedomPop.

If you need to return or exchange the phone you'll deal with Choxi, not with FreedomPop.

FreedomPop charged me a penny to activate the Nexus 5. I think this is true for all FreedomPop phones purchased though Choxi.
They need credit card on file to active your account.

I believe the fee for BYOD (phone you bought on eBay, Amazon ..) is $20
There is also $20 charge if you want to port existing number
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I have a Freedompop SPH-L710. The VOIP from Freedompop couldn't replace my primary phone service, however, they offer 1gb or more free data monthly, which couldn't be beaten anywhere in this nation.

Many users simply use Hangouts or Groove IP instead of the FreedomPop VOIP app too.

Yeah. I carry a FreedomPop ZTE Force around with me everyday as a backup phone. I just use my Google Voice number through Hangouts. I'm subscribed to their $15/ mo "unlimited" data plan with their free voice and text plan. I love FreedomPop, I'm still not crazy about Sprint. Their coverage is horrible.

True that. I just left Sprint for Cricket (AT&T) on my primary phone. A FreedomPop type offering on another network (AT&T, Verizon, etc.) would be incredible.

Is this phone already activated on freedompop or would there be an additional $20 activation fee like for any Sprint phone?

edit: from the description it would seem you would need to pay the $20 fee to activate on freedompop

That phone was already activated on freedompop saving you the $20 activation fee.

To me, it sounds like it is already activated for FreedomPop. "Contact FreedomPop at (888) 743-8107 9am - 5pm (Pacific time) to begin the process of moving your phone to another carrier" sounds like you'd only have to contact FreedomPop if you wanted to use it on a different carrier instead.

This might also help clarify -- no BYOD fee for FreedomPop-specific devices bought from other retailers:

I think they used to charge $10 for BYOD activation, but I think it has been $20 for some time now. Here is a post referencing that change from over a year ago:

It all depends on how much activation fee they charge. When you do BYOD, it shows $20. Not sure how much they charge for this one.

Shouldn't be any BYOD or activation fee for this device. It is already FreedomPop branded (basically meaning the MEID/ESN is already in their system, plus their apps are pre-installed). See links in posts above.

BYOD activation fee only applies to plain vanilla Sprint devices that you want to bring to FreedomPop.
