At least this one works with more then just the OTA, I'm considering getting Romamio with lifetime.

I'm skeptical about getting lifetime with a refurbished Roamio Plus. Can I still take advantage of the $349.99 lifetime subscription if I buy the Roamio Plus from a third party like Best Buy?

I paid for their annual service (149.99) on Roamio with about 9 months remaining on the year. Does anyone know if I would be able to get the remaining months applied to to the lifetime fee?

huh? you mean get 3/4 of your $149 back and apply it towards the $350? if that's what you're asking I highly doubt it. Its always cheapest to pony up for lifetime right off the bat. Anything else is just wasting money.

I purchased my Roamio Pro from Amazon and got the lifetime sub through Tivo, so I believe it should be fine.

This seems too high to me for a Roamio OTA with lifetime, $400. I would try one for $299, but will keep my windows 7 media center htpc for awhile longer at this higher price. Also, Channel Master has the DVR+ with a decent free guide for only $250 (bring your own HD), sometimes for $199 when on sale.

Htpc is cheaper. We know. One of you brings it up in every TiVo thread.

Absolutely love our TiVo roamio. We would pay extra for it now that we have used it. We got the biggest one TiVo offers and we never fill more than 27% even with tons of content saved for our kids.

Don't hate Windows Media Center. It's the best and FREE. I've had my Ceton For 4 years. Comcast has paid me $2.50 a month to use my own equipment plus not set top box rental or DVR fees. That's $125 credit for the last 50 months.

I own three media center extenders. I can stream live or recorded tv to any computer or device with Kodi. It's a great setup once tweaked.
