The Boost Mobile version of this phone is at Radioshack for $29.99. What makes the Boost version better is that you can unlock the bootloader and can activate on with R+ If you can have Best Buy PM this and get your $25, this would be ultra-slick! I have attached the price from a local Radioshack.
here is the thread for the $5 boost M moto g...not easy...but possible....i got mine for $5 and using on RP free plan
I took my phone out of airplane mode (using for perking) and hit the auto activate button. Followed voice prompts including option to pay later. Picked my own PIN and was assigned a phone number based on my zip code I entered. Used all real info etc. This is Verizon... I'm more scared of my info being stolen by a waitress than Verizon.
I then went to the Verizon website, created an account, and added $5. I made an outbound call to finalize the activation. Have to select English during the test call. Then I hung up before it went to my other phones voice mail. I called back my newly activated moto g and it rang on the inbound call. Fully working! Now, to wait 6 months.
Calls are billed at 25¢ for voice minutes and 20¢ for texts. Cool but expensive pay as you go.
Back to airplane mode... Not planning to use any of the $5.00 balance if I can help it.
Hope this helps someone else.
PS, I never had to talk to an employee.
2 days later, I checked my Verizon account and found a free 1GB of days with unlimited talk and text added to my account while keeping the $5 balance I had too.
I did nothing and spoke to no one so this should be for everyone.
