Very good TV. Picked up my brand new 60HU8550 from Fry's last weekend for $1301 ($1296 + $5 CA recycling fees) NO TAX on 4k TVs. Was originally going to get the display for a discount ($1105 out the door) but missing pretty much everything (no stand, no smart remote, not 3d glasses, etc.) plus it was a return. Then they sold it to another buyer the following day since they told me they could not take it down the day I went to buy it. They ended up getting me a brand new one from another Fry's store. Now I'm glad someone else bought the display. I think only 1 or 2 other Fry's store may have it in the whole country.

I think Sharp makes the 60" panel for Samsung. No banding, no clouding, and very minimal light bleed when the room is very dark. Blacks are not as dark as my Sony though but it is alright. Loving it so far especially since I can connect my headphones wirelessly to the TV.

They are very very close in performance, basically the same according to rtings.com

However the JU7100 has all 8bit panels and many HU8550's come with 10bit panels.

If they were the same exact price, I'd go for the HU8550.

I have a 65HU8550 w/10 bit panel (Verison TS01) and it is incredible. Just snagged it recently on eBay for $1100 mint condition w/box and everything Big Grin

How much content out there are 10bit? Samsung likes to play with their numbers just like their JU6500 model this year is a true 60 hz panel. They called it CM120

about to pull the trigger on this one. I believe this is the 2014 model, correct me if I'm wrong. I am stuck between the UN60JU7100 (2015 model) and this though. I am a TV amateur so if anyone can can put their input on which is a better option and whether or not this deal is worth it I would greatly appreciate it. Hope the deal stays alive until tomorrow at least!!

Bought a Samsung UN48H8000 for $569 clearance deal from Best Buy. Best deal I've ever gotten on a TV.
