Great deal from Lenovo Outlet on a great laptop with excellent build quality. Weighs only 3lbs

This laptop has two batteries, one external and one internal. Rated run time is 17 hours. You can also hot swap that external battery (without shutting down) if you carry a spare

391 in stock right now

Good config with Win 8 Pro, IPS touchscreen and its NEW

It has a backlit keyboard. That is standard on all X240s. The backlit keyboard has two levels of brightness

The RAM can be upgraded to 8GB.

Additionally you can add a M.2 SSD and still keep the 500GB drive. (You can also replace the 500GB mechanical drive witha regular 2.5" SSD if you like). This gives the advantage of having large storage + SSD

Right now this compatible 256Gb M.2 SSD [amazon.com] drive is on sale for $95

Seems like a fair price considering it comes with extended battery. I still have the x201 from few years back so will probably hold off on upgrading

this has touchscreen and IPS as well as extended. I think a few months ago the best freak deal was 430 with same specs but basic screen and battery. this is a good deal, but it's deviated from the thinkpad design a lot that purists will probably find it problematic. (there's no physical mouse button, for example, which some users find it annoying. There was enough revolt that x250 had it back).

Yet considering this is cheaper than a Yoga, and with a future proof touchscreen, the price is pretty good. The only non-premium spec would probably be the low resolution despite the IPS screen.

also lenovo would probably change the price as it happend last time. get it while it lasts, you can always cancel later.

That previous deal barely lasted and it was for refurb without Win 8 Pro. This is NEW, extended battery, IPS and Win 8 PRO

With Windows 10 about to drop, all these machines with Windows 8.x will be getting cleared out.

I maybe wrong as there were some more details that were released that I haven't read into, but aren't windows 10 free upgrades anyway for these machines?

I got one with i3 as described (basic no touch screen, basic battery, win 8 and 500gb spin drive), and it was new. It lasted like minutes if not seconds, also appeared at wee hours in the morning when nobody was looking. The price also went up very quickly on the exact same model (within an hour of seeing it), so it never really made to SD.

But yes I agree with you. This is the best deal ever on x240. Repped and thanks.

Yes free upgrade to Windows 10 from Win 8 and Win 7 as long as you do it within one year. Additionally since this machine has Win 8 PRO , you will get upgrade to WIN 10 PRO which is a $139 value (that is what MS charges to upgrade a base OS to PRO)

good price but no physical mouse button would be a big negative.

This is a X series Thinkpad at a ridiculously low price. If that doesn't mean much to you, then it is not worth it to you
