Fry's Electronics has the 48" JU6500 (flat, semi glossy) 4k tv for $647 [frys.com]. Fry's also pays the tax on this. TV is normally $997. This is a great deal for anyone who is looking for a 4k display for their computer. It is the lowest price seen on this tv ever.

Rtings has reviewed it here:

http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/...ung/ju6500

Response time = 16.4ms and input lag = 26.5ms.

This tv does 4:4:4 chroma as well in pc mode at 48ms which is fine for all things non gaming.
Otherwise, you will get 4:2:2 in game mode at 26.5ms which is good for everything except twitch gaming, although some say fps twitch is fine with this tv.

24p: No
24p via 60p: No
24p via 60i: No
1080p @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4: Yes
1080p @ 120Hz: No
4k @ 30Hz @ 4:4:4: Yes
4k @ 60Hz: Yes
4k @ 60Hz @ 4:4:4: Yes
Boot Time: 5.31 s
Power Consumption: 80 W
Power Consumption (Max): 177 W
Firmware: 1206
To achieve Chroma 4:4:4, enable UHD Color and label the input as PC. This TV does not display 24p properly, even though it accepts it as an input. You can see judder when watching movies.

Not sure you want a tv for gaming? go over to this thread to read about all the Samsung's from 4k TV owners using them as pc monitors to help you decide. Tons of info there:

http://hardforum.com/showthread.p...4&page=228

Also you will need hdmi 2.0 capable gpu for 60 fps which means only nvidia 9xxx cards.

Amazon price match says it does not match one day sales, so YMMV if you try price match with them. ****EDIT - Actually this goes from 7/19/15 - 7/25/15 so price match should be fine*****

You will also need a promo code sent to you via email. Not a problem however as you can sign up and get the promo code for this tv sent to you immediately:

Just curious, but is that a typical response time and input lag for a TV of this caliber?

I'm afraid I'd be way too accustomed to my 2-10 ms delay monitors to use this on anything aside from video playback, which would require a few minor tweaks to sync audio and video together.

I have a 30" monitor with 5ms input lag so I am used to much faster input lag as well, but lots of people are reporting the latency is not noticeable over on that 200 page thread I linked. There are enough posts there to confirm it's probably a non-issue for most.

I would only use this monitor for pc gaming and desktop anyway. Got a 65" VT 50 right across the room for video Smilie

And to answer your question no these low latency numbers for the Samsung's are not typical. They are normally much higher because they are tv's. Since no large 40" or larger 4k monitors even exist, this is the only way to get a 4k for your pc, so in that sense, these tv's latency are amazing. And over at rtings, the js8500 just replaced this tv as the best 4k display. But of course that 8500 cost 1000 more too!

When you sign up u get a personal code in your email. It is a one use code so someone not using will have to share or sign up and use yours.
It is just below the 1st set of ads in the email. it has an asterisk next to it. A little hard to find but it's there.

So how would Amazon match this since you need a promo code and the "ad" on the site doesn't even say it's a Samsung, just that it's a 48 inch 4k. Can someone post a screenshot of their cart/a page showing the tv at the discounted price. I got a promo code but I have to call in to get one to use it online and I can't call right now

With promo code of 19th I got that price . If you buy online you need to pay tax, if you pick in store tax free , still thinking to pull trigger ? Refresh rate 120 Hz?

tempting, but the bad viewing angles kept me from buying it

Remember, "Motion Rate 120" is Samsungs number for a 60Hz refresh rate. This is a 60Hz refresh rate on this display...

The promo code I recieved in email is not working. I tried to call and it told me to enter promo code during checkout which there was not even an option to do so. Has anyone gotten this deal to work??

My promo code worked, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Think about this for a gaming display on my computer. Battlefront is coming.
