These guns have been going in and out of stock for the last few weeks, so grab them before they go out of stock again (and while the rebate is still going on)! I bought mine from gunbuyer.com last month and it was sent to my FFL dealer in 2 days with free shipping and no tax. I love my XDS, it is the perfect concealed carry for me Smilie

Springfield is also running the single stack summer rebate until the end of August where you get 3 free additional magazines and a mag pouch. I received my free magazines 10 days after I submitted my rebate info so now I have 5 total mags.

A good carry piece. Have had the 45 from when they were released. Curious how the 9mm performs... Must resist...

This isn't everyone. but I went to buy the XDS and the single stack seemed too narrow for my hands and it felt weird right below the trigger guard. Spent about 45 minutes trying to convince myself to get it.

In the end, I got a XD mod 2 subcompact. The double stack magazines really felt more comfortable in my hands. If you haven't held the XDS, I recommend going to a store to test.

This is tempting. I'm so partial to M&P, though, but this deal, with the extra magazines...so tempted. What's the "standard" price of this once this deal is over?

If you look at the Cabelas link in the OP, they want $599.99+ Tax/fees for either the 9mm or .45

Same for me. I ended up getting the Mod 2. Felt much better in my big hands.

Well, yeah, I know what MSRP is. But what's the real normal price? Is this deal just getting the extra magazines, or is this a real steal?

I picked up the XDS 9mm 3.3" from Grab-a-Gun hours before they ran a similar sale, paid $392.99 and still feel I got a good deal. Just picked it up a few days ago and haven't shot it yet, but the profile on it is small/slim--great for concealed carry.

Yeah thats pretty much the point. Its for carry when you need something as slim as possible. After putting 2 mags through it at the range it will feel completely natural anyway.
I already have a shield, but I love my XDM so maybe Ill pick this up too.
