Nice that they are beating Petco's sale prices. Just wish they included larger tanks. Frown

I new to the hobby. I have a 10 gallon glass tank I got at Petco that included the cover/lamp and pump/filter for 45 bucks several months back.

I want to get a 20 gallon. Factoring in the cost of the needed cover/lamp and pump/filter, is this a good deal? My local Petco has a 20 gallon kit with the above items for 1239.

Yeah, they used to include 55 gallons, but not anymore. A local store used to do a dollar per gallon sale, but would try and hide the big tanks in the back. I bought 2 75g and a 135g, and flipped them for some good money.

$135 for a 135g? For a few hundred off, yep, I'd camp out overnight to be first in line for that one. Laughing the whole time to, waiting overnight in line for a deal at the pet store, it's just not the same as when a new iPhone or something comes out! LoL Smilie

Anyone have any recommendations for a lid for a 20 gallon tank with 2 hermit crabs? My mom got my daughter them from the fair and they are in a wire hamster cage. I heard glass is better for them at providing the moisture and humidity they need. Is a screen good or should they have a light?

It would be nice if we could trade in old aquariums when upgrading to a larger one. There should be some type of recycling program.

I personally like to choose my own things, but you are right that the hood and lamp usually cost a lot when not part of a set. I would also look at Craigslist, as they are a lot of people upgrading or getting out of the hobby.

I went the same route, a 10 then 20, and now have a 50 gallon acrylic. the hobby is a bit addictive.

also a Python siphon is basically the best money spent and secondly is a canister filter.
