Got one of these a while ago from amazon. These are definitely worth the money. Highly recommend.

whats the difference between this and the recent newegg Urge NFC soundbrich (besides the NFC)? As far as I can see, even the wattage is identical.

I am also curious how these compare to the Plus version with NFC. Does anybody also know how this compares with the Anker 20hr speaker?

I got this the last time it was on SD. I must say I'm impressed at the overall sound quality specifically the bass. I'm fairly underwhelmed by the max volume on this thing and that would be my only compliant. Will most likely best anything you have in this form factor/price range, hands down. Better, fuller sound than my Pure Acoustics hipbox-mini and louder than my little but very capable LePow Modre. I say buy.

This speaker performs outdoors much, much better than the original jambox. I used this on the the beach all last week and it was always loud enough even amongst the crowd, wind, ocean and boardwalk noise. It is always audible over my pool filter as well.

Why would I want an NFC version over just the BT? I have a Nexus 5, but don't use NFC for much, but can someone tell me how I would use it differently?

TIA

NFC just makes the pairing part easy, if you want to make this speaker work with multiple devices such as tablets, phones etc. If you are comfortable dealing with pairing the BT route, then makes no difference.

Seems like a good buy, but no Staples near me anymore. They closed the one right around the corner, and the next nearest one is about 30 minutes away. Otherwise I might grab one too.
