I start a new job next Monday and was just wondering if anyone had any last minute travel ideas that would last 3-5 days. I don't mind spending some money, just as long as it's not THAT out of the ordinary compared to what the normal costs would be had I reserved ahead of time. I'm currently in Tampa, FL area, so if I have to travel to Georgia to take a plane to Belize because the ticket prices are pretty good, then I will do just that. I am open to just about everything, cruises, plane trips to even Asia or South America, etc. Complete newbie with this stuff, I've never done it and this is one of my only few opportunities. I don't have any kids or wife, so makes doing this a bit easier. Would appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks :-)

I would go check out the prices using Kayak or another deal site to see what the best last minute prices are and pick from them.

Any other legit deal sites you would recommend? Tons of sites claim themselves as "deal" sites, more often times than not, they aren't actual slick deals.

I've seen several people suggest Airfare Watchdog but I've never been able to replicate the 'deals' they emailed to me.

For last minute travel I think Kayak is a good choice, or Priceline's Last Minute Deals, but I haven't used that one in a while since lately our vacations are on fixed dates. http://www.priceline.com/promo/la...ckid=50off

First, congrats on the new venture - definitely the right time to celebrate.

For Atlanta and Orlando, this site is your new best friend: http://faredealalert.com/category...deals/mco/

Miami tends to have many more great deals, so you can try their sister site:

Just temper your expectations as you are truly doing this last minute and many airlines will require a 3-7 day advance purchase for these super discount fares. Good luck!

Also try www.skyscanner.com. Enter your origin city and, for desination city, type EVERYWHERE - it will bring up a list of possible options. Play with dates and cities, but here is example of flights out of Miami leaving tomorrow (Wed) and returning (Sun)

Avoid Spirit Airlines though if you can

I like vacations to go [vacationstogo.com] for last-minute cruise options. Once you enter your parameters, you can sort by cost per night.
