DEAD as of 8-5
DEGUNS.net has this rifle for $1199 before shipping. This is a local dealer to me, he does a ton of online business and is good to go. It is red hot and hard to find bringing $1500+ on auctions.

I wish I would even know where to start in appreciating what a rifle like this has to offer. I've been having so much fun with my Ruger AR556 and the boat load of reman 223 I got from FM, it would be hard to justify stepping up to something like this. TU and Rep'd though

I saw a writeup on these rifles a week or so ago. Really interested in the .308 version. Have yet to see one in person, however. A remote shop I follow on facebook got one in and were selling it for $1400 or so.

If I had to guess, I'd say .308 due to it's general popularity and being around forever. The 6.5 is super young in comparison and I never hear anyone talk about the .243.

I'd get the 6.5 if I was getting one, but .308 is bound to be more popular.

Also, that bolt handle looks obnoxious for lefties.

Depends on the round type. 6.5 Creedmoor is a fairly new round and costs more then 308. Range wise the 308 is effective to a bit over 1000 yards while the 6.5 can get to around 1300.

Factory Match 308 and 6.5 is about the same or actually less for 6.5. $29 for 308 and $25-27 for 6.5. Until 308 started coming down 6.5 was actually cheaper for match ammo. 140r 6.5 vs 168gr 308s. If you want apples to apples look at those loads.

That being said a 6.5 smokes the 308 in distance and accuracy, it also is not bothered as much by the wind by a large margin. Most competition shooters are shooting 6.5, 260 (same bullet) etc.

.308 had it's day. It is a heck of a round but the technology behind 6.5 ballistics has left it in the dust in every category.

BUT... if you are shooting shorter distances and already reloading .308 etc. then it makes a lot of sense.

Therein lies the 6.5's strength. It is one of the finest calibers to get if you don't reload and shoot distance. Plenty of competitors shoot factory 6.5 with great results.

The product page says this:

And the 3.08 is already a ton of money.
