Thumbs down for the drive type.

The v300 has long since been marred in the world of SSD. Kingston did a bait and switch and changed the nand type to a shittier nand and the performance of the drive suffered greatly.

Namely, it runs barely faster than a 7200 rpm drive. And that is on a sata 1 slot...

Even their Hyper X 3K is a piece of junk. It takes about 30 seconds to boot. Unbelievable slow compared to EVO and other SSD I ever used.

LOL, Newegg is so desperate to get rid of these clunkers that they're trying to dump them four at a time now.

30 s to boot? For an SSD that is horrible.

Weird, never had any of the listed problems through a range of these drives. Not an Evo 850, but not 7200 drive speed.

Ah you may someday, get a program like HDTune so you can see a performance benchmark of MB/s as you go accross the whole drive. What happend with one of mine was the graph changed over time, the initial one was flat and at the "slower" speeds, which at the time I was OK with. But after running it for about 4 months, about 20% of the drive (scattered around randomly) was reading 1-20MB/s which is a total crawl.

I also put one of these into a friend's laptop, it started corrupting windows and became non-bootable in about 7 months. NOT GOOD (I purchased 4 of these and 2 are a total failure in less than a year)
