I know 1.25% is not much. But this is the highest yield in the nation - with no fee, no minimum and no debit card transaction requirement. FDIC

The 1.25% APY was effective since June 8 2015. Rate is subject to change. This is a saving account, not CD acct

Thanks OP.

I've had accounts at EmigrantDirect.com and DollarSavingsDirect.com (the other two online divisions of Emigrant Bank) with no problems.

Will probably jump on this!

This is nothing brand new... this rate with this institution has been available for the past few months now.

Check out the other thread on it. They offer high rates for a while then take them way down.

Ever heard of Emigrant Direct? Dollar Savings Direct? Seeing the pattern... Personally I got tired of them and just moved my $ to Amex. Not quite as much but seems to be less hassle.

From what I've seen not like these guys. Getting a new bank every 18 months is a hassle IMO for a little bit of $ that is taxed in the end anyways.

Barclays has been at 1% for a while now if you don't want the hoops. I joined at 0.9 a few years ago and they raised to to 1% earlier this year.

I posed a question about this bank and this is the answer I got. Also, if you look at reviews, you might want to think twice.

BTW, BankRate is wrong on CIT Bank, they are still at 1.05%.
