I pretty much only play online games. All the reviews I've read are from last year. Ssd still wouldn't help destiny would it since you're always waiting for other people to load?

I doubt it would do much beyond speeding up that initial install time for a game. I haven't seen any new benchmarks but the early ones shows that it was nearly useless in terms of overall performance.

It would probably decrease loading times in games by a large amount when playing games off of the SSD/HDD.

he plays mainly online. so he wouldn't benefit from faster map load times since he would be waiting on everyone else. an ssd for online play is a "hurry up and wait" scenario.

I would not put a 150 dollar part into a 350 dollar console..

I do find it ironic console people always bitch about how with PCs you have to deal with parts. Now half the people who have ps4s want ssds. Why not just get something much faster like a PC with an ssd?

No hyperbole there at all right?

I have a SSD in both my gaming desktop and my laptop (and would never go back to a HDD) but I have no interest in slapping a SSD into my PS4.

You can get an SSD for less than $100. And I have a gaming desktop that I built myself that can play any current game at max settings across 3 monitors. Was just wondering if SSD's situation had changed on consoles because all the reviews I've read about them are from around July of 2014.

Battlefield 4 is a great example to use an SSD. On the PC version everyone who has an SSD loads into the game before others, and the game is often 30 seconds in when the HDD noobs finally finish loading and start spawning in while the SSD people are already in vehicles headed to the 1st control points.

An armed man is a citizen. An unarmed man is a subject.
The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.
A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone

I had a similar experience with Titanfall on PC. Map loading lag on HDD from 5-20 seconds. Once I installed a SSD I spawned immediately.

Dude you can't get a 500gb ssd for under 100. Can you get a 120 for under 100 yes. But it would be silly to put 120gb ssd in the ps4. The OS takes up 93 gbs
