just another program killed by microsoft. microsoft have learned their lesson and put the start button back (and improved it). so noone is going to use the untrustworthy 3rd party app anymore.

good bye.

I came from windows 8.1 using start8 similar to this but after upgrading to 10, there is no need for 3rd party start menus imo.

IF you dont like it or trust is dont use it , for some it might be something to make things easier and more familiar?
I wouldn't use the term "untrustworthy"

http://www.pcworld.com/article/20...grams.html > "Return of Windows 7

If you really miss the Windows 7 Start menu, StartIsBack should be your first choice."

Or better yet, use the free alternative as it works just fine and doesn't cost money like this one does.

I haven't used windows8 in ages, but when I did this program was a lifesaver. So, if there isn't a free viable alternative that literally makes it operate like win7 -- then I'd pay $3 for this all day long. If there is, then use that.

As long as it does not crash / as they claim the beta release has been fixed from doing so? hence (official) release.

Ive used this since Windows 8, and its still way better than the start menu Windows 10 has.
Dont be so rude until you try it.

i agree. people are happy with windows 10 start menu button now. they will get used to it, unlike the dummy button on 8.1.

Microsoft should have given a option to a classic view , if anything this thread will bring awareness no matter what. Microsoft unlike apples tactics does not take the good that comes and make it better. This new windows 10 start menu is all candy for the sale of the future of a new difference. There was nothing wrong with the old start menu and this needed to change to sell. Show me a performance difference to the "new people will get used to" start menu that benefits?

Do you really think big business volumed to win 8 to spend tons on dollars to retrain its employees base to learn a new system? and watch productivity drop by lack of familiarity?

Do you think win 10 will pose the same lack of adoption by big business?

people were frustrated on windows 8 and 8.1 for missing start menu button. now it's back to windows 10. they are happy with it. no complaints.

any 3rd party start menu button app is not necessary now. unless they want to pay and it's working for their own personal preference. its good for them, but not for the rest of windows 10 users.

just look at how people thumb down your topic.

enough said.

But navigation is still not seamlessly flawless in its navigation to productivity as in this of using windows for years. hence the corporate environment. You can get to your destination in a click of a second with the old style menu vs the new menu that will take time IMO to learn.
This IMO slows productivity esp in a corporate structure. When there is no other alternative in the future then this will become the new norm. Till then the old style is what people know and are used to. Bets to MS making a classic view in the future after the EOL windows 7 Pro or sooner?

Thanks for your input and feedback... I personally prefer the classic view an option not given by the distributor and clearly for a reason Wink

New always should stand for "improvement" over previous , in this case not IMO till proven.

I wonder how many people UNINSTALLED win 10 because they did NOT like the navigation and it felt to foreign to them still? Sometimes old dogs do not like to taught new tricks.

This thread smells of self promotion, " classic shell" is free and looks like Windows 7 in almost every way a "old dog" user could want
