There's another vendor for the same price with better ratings (wholesale something with 96%).

But what about the drive? Googling it's a mid 2014 release targeted at businesses with a few extra features.

Question is will the extra features such as encryption dork up the average user and does business == poor performance because almost anything is good enough for bob from accounting to play mine sweeper on?

the x###'s have always been tuned for enterprise use. so the specs tend to be better for endurance and reliability. it seems to be based on the Ultra II tech so performance should be competive with the BX100/EVO with the added encryption features.
