5 cents cheaper on Amazon

The differences are basically just the RF remote

Lifetime Service? Does that mean their no monthly fee?
Is this deal better than the ChannelMaster deal?

FYI for anyone looking at this. You need another main TIVO (IE tivo Romio or similar) for this to even work. there is no "lifetime service" for the mini. if you have lifetime service for the main unit this one will work. without it..... it won't

A TiVo Mini is the perfect way to extend your DVR (watch recorded shows, live TV, Netflix, Amazon, Plex, etc) to a new TV. At $99 for this functionality, it makes the TiVo platform a much nicer sell. You need a TiVo Roamio (base, OTA, Plus, or Pro) or a 4-tuner Premiere for the Mini to pair to.

Pair one or more Mini's with a$299 refurbished TiVo Roamio for a killer multi-room DVR solution. Add $40 for a 3-year extended warranty if refurbished bothers you.

Agree. People are clueless as to what they can do with a tivo. And there is nothing else out there that can do what i do with a tivo.

I think that poster/poser meant Microsoft Ultimate TV would be dead; TiVo has been doing well for a while and is structured to capitalize on the cord cutters with an excellent product.

I doubt they'll be dead. I bet they'll drop the sub price a lot. Simple TV sucked and was no competition. But with HDhomeruns dvr coming out next month, tablo and new ott service set to come out the competition is rapidly growing.

Hell, consider the fact ReplayTV stopped selling hardware in 2005 and they JUST stopped doing program guide updates this year.

Guess which company owns the DVR patents, ATT just paid 215 million to Tivo to settle in June.

I wouldn't be surprise if those products mention above aren't paying Tivo a licensing fee and if they aren't, Tivo has won a lot of court cases.
