Ren Ferguson who was the backbone and master luthier of the Gibson acoustic guitar and custom division for decades retired from Gibson in 2012 amongst having a leg injury. Ren healed up better than expected and was approached by Fender to head up their Guild Division and then their new USA Custom Shop Acoustic Division. Fender at the time owned Guild which became the home of the custom shop as well. Ren designed built and oversaw the hand built instruments. Unfortunately the Fender Custom Shop was closed almost as fast as it opened. Fender sold the Guild division off leaving them with no manufacturing facility or staff and the cost to build a new facility for such limited production was cost prohibited. So these instruments are made buy the Master Luthier from Gibson, who went to Guild, who employes most of the USA Ovation luthiers (after ovation USA Custom Shop shut down), under the Fender Brand. Hmmm can you say "Dream Team". With the limited supply and story line these could be very collectible.

Special Note: Each guitar will be opened and receive a full personal QC inspection from both the owner and shipping manager prior to shipping. These guitars are in limited supply. We were told only a small handful maybe less than 10 of any model or less had ever shipped out from Fender, and our supply is about the same which is all that is left and no more will be made.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Look good and I am sure they sound good. You can't find the same quality for less $... My only concern is the resale value on these guitar. Most of us will upgrade our guitars one time or another and I doubt these guitars will get much for what we pay for.

Yeah, that always bothered me with their acoustics. Looks good on an electric though.

Seems like a very high end guitar. There is nothing really in the specs that isn't top of the line. I don't see a spec you could upgrade. Pretty much dead on Gibson specs at a really cheap price. Saweet...I wish I had it for tomorrows radio show...

IMO it's a bad idea to be spending $1k on a guitar if you're just starting out. $300-400 should be better since you're not even sure if you're going to stick with it. This guitar would be for more experienced people who have played for at least 6-12 months who know they love playing the guitar and are looking to buy one for the long term.
