Can't browse site on IE11

If I go to SD using IE11 with the August updates it just freezes the browser with max CPU usage. What's going on here?

Is this an issue across all pages? Are you on the classic site or redesign site and is one of those views less cpu intense than the other on ie11? Also, is this a constant issue on every page view or does it seem like it comes and goes?

It's working fine now.

I'm on the classic view, two bookmarks going straight into Hot Deals and Deal Talk. Both were causing IE11 to hang and CPU pin 100%. Had to end task to close IE11. Again, it's working now.

It's not working for me still. It's for any link in Slickdeals and both with new/old style.

Strangely enough if I start IE with the debugger turned on and browse the site it's fine.

Slickdeals is apparently serving bad ads, had to block adroll.com and maxymiser.com and I'm all good

Unfortunately we do have bad ad vendors sneak in every now and then. Interesting that you were having issues with maxymiser though. That is actually a testing library that we use to try out changes on the site with a small population to measure their effectiveness before releasing the changes to all of the users.

If you are up to it, would you mind unblocking maxymiser temporarily to see if it is still occurring?

Same issue here with IE11, okay in Windows 10 browser, but Norton Wallet and other features I'm used to are not available in the latter (it's more convenient for me to stay in IE11 to make purchases etc. with the wallet, not switching between browsers).

Worked fine until a week ago (arrgh!)

@portauthority, how can we block specific ads? Or Slickdeals, how about removing/correcting those offending ads?

Thanks

I used hosts file to block them

Unfortunately it has come back ... must be something else going on. Again, I don't know why, but if you go to the site with the IE debugger turned on it doesn't lock up. It's as if it knows that you are debugging and decides to play nice...
