Seems like a great deal for one of the more premium GTX 980s out there.

Comes to $479.99 before the mail in rebate with free shipping and no tax for many states.
$449.99 after all expenses and rebates are done.

The card has a built in waterblock and two fans. It can be water cooled or air cooled. The choice is yours.

wondering why all 980s are going down so much in price... that is like 100 less then last month's price. I snagged evga kingpin for $410 two weeks ago... and that one retailed for over 550 as well a month ago. wondering what is going on...

The AMD 390X is what's going on.

There's also the gtx 980 ti which is basically a nerfed titan x with nearly the same performance at $650.

650 may be too high on the budget for some. I game at 2560x1080 and the 980 ti is a bit overkill for that.

If you got around 500 for a gtx 980, you can save a 150 more for a better video card that performs at a 4% fps difference or (more often) less than a titan x.

That's how I feel when looking for a upgrade right now.

The lowest I saw the 980 Kingpin for was $499. Where did you get it for $410?

He probably has an ultrawide monitor, I had one awhile back. It's one panel, usually 29" and now a few of them at 34" with resolutions at both 2560x1080 and 3440x1440; I think LG, Dell and AOC make them? 21:9 aspect ratio (as opposed to 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 which are 16:9).

They're super nice for FPS games, nice widescreen without the wonky borders of multi-monitor setups, just not quite as wide and surround as having 3 16:9 monitors.

you do know you are comparing vanilla 980 ti which retails for about $650 with a high end tricked out 980 that has a built in waterblock. you wanna do apples to apples then take this 980 and compare it to a 980 ti classified for example or some other higher end TI. It will be more than $150. Otherwise a gtx 980 can be had from evga b stock for as low as $370.

Didn't even realize that was capable of watercooling. I'm still reeling from missing the gtx 980 hydro copper for $350 which is why I've been visiting the gtx 980 threads specifically.

I'm just legitimately pointing out my own opinion on the matter cause I'm really looking for an upgrade.

tastygarden is correct. I have a LG 34UM67 which is a 1080p monitor at a 21:9 ratio.
